Need dodgy loft conversion rectified. Any advice

Hi, we have found out that the existing loft conversion in the property we have bought has major issues regarding plumbing and installation. Certificates were in place from building control and council. We need to basically get it redone. Not sur if we have any recourse or what's the best way of getting the work rectified. Appreciate any help anyone might b able to offer.
