For the first time BT have given up on me. Laptop was working this morning no problem. Can someone recommend help? Toshiba laptop. Reliable. Loved. But all BT woman did was try and uninstall then reinstall TCP IP v4 and v6 but still not joy. Recommendations for a laptop doctor gratefully received. Thanks. (Sent from my Tablet!)

Edited to add that thanks to Pawel at UKComputers, he fixed it. Hoorah! AND it's a guaranteed fix for 60 days.

what a stupid comment with norton !!

how do you know its a norton ?!!

simply troubleshoot connection and tell us what does it say

then everyone (who knows what is doing) can find the answer and fix the problem within minutes

ps.

there can be few factors

faulty internet browser

wrong setup

disconnected or faulty network card

firewalled connection

administrator access not allowed

or few other things

BUT NOT ANTIVIRUS GOODNESS SAKE

How rude :(

I totally agree with vino. that supposed to be reputable shop !!

How the help the guy can put blame one of the tycons like Norton Symantec

Which is in fact one of the best antivirus software producer on earth

Stupid comment

I have taken snapshot of that Norton comment.

What I will do is send it to the company that makes Norton antivirus and I bet anybody that they will suck out life out of that shop because of that comment about Norton antivirus .

Well done netquest

He does know what he's talking about because Netquest have always solved my computer problems quickly and at a reasonable price. the last time when I couldn't get onto my computer due to a virus, he sorted it out for me when others had helpfully tried before him.

I'd give him a try PeckhamRose.

Hi all, l was sure l had pretty much explained everything in my opening post. Netquest thanks for your help. Not Norton as l replied. But another company person is coming over to fix it. He got to me before you and if hecan not do it, l will go to you. TCP/IP V4. That's my problem. Nothing else. Gino1 your offer to help told me nothing about you. Others gave me their skills and background and thus confidence. Just sayin'. Rose

    • If you are that bothered, why don't you ask the people at the mosque what the situation is, and let us all know? 🤣 I live round the corner and I hadn't even noticed an awning, let alone one "half hanging off". If you think it's a safety hazard, that's a different issue, and one they may not be aware of, in which case you should definitely let them know.
    • I guess, in a few weeks we will see if he is still a councillor or goes back to teaching 🤔
    • What happened with the Heygate was absolutely scandalous. The lack of accountability is shocking.
    • Because the previous Libdem/Tory coalition council did so much better? ....Oh wait. Selling off the Heygate at a bargain price and reducing the number of council homes it replaced? Being in opposition is so much easier isn't it James.  The point on allowances etc is a valid one, and that is about finding the right balance between the responsibility of those cabinet roles and the role of service that should underpin all political aspirations in an ideal world. Holding down a full time job, while having to attend meetings and then deal with case work on top, is a huge ask imo. People in key roles need to have the time needed to do those roles effectively, so some renumeration makes sense. It's just a question of where the balance should be. McAsh has walked away from that, so his convictions are doing more talking than careerism arguably.  Worth pointing out that most MPs started out as party/ political activists/ campaigners on a local level. Different parties have different processes for selecting candidates, but everyone starts out at a low level.
