Heaven forfend PGC. And before anyone suggests it I'm not implying the same about the young women in question either.

Though from the sound of his original post there's probably something in there about pinning and balls.

And also, I think that SM was being over self-deprecating when he suggested a surfeit of alcohol might have been responsible for the welcome assault on his person.

Three words SM. Pher Oh Mones.

geez, and i wasn't planning on going to the forum drinks on friday as i will be halfway to cornwall (with any luck). but all this talk of sean "my favouritest forumite" macgabhann being felt-up, being a hottie, etc (not to mention the reference to pinball wizard, easily one of the best songs ever) has got me feeling that i need to change my plans so i can see for myself what all this fuss is about.

now, how to persuade tosh (aka mr shosh)...

Mr MacGabhan!

OHMYGOD!!!

You have been sexually assaulted, and in typical Irish fashion, you are hiding your self blame and disgust behind a tissue of bravado. These two women (if indeed they were female) should be ashamed of themselves, you an Irish Roman Catholic boy with a devoted girl friend and everything.

I myself was not even in the country at the time, and myself and the au pair were no-where at all near Lordship Lane...

It sounds to me that East Dulwich is turning into a depraved version of Faliraki (gasp).

    • That explanation sounds highly unlikely!  Surely the "days of the week" plates must be a standard size. I know Royal Mail often appears incompetent, but it  couldn't be that stupid, surely. Was it 1 April?!
    • Looking for a short length of electric (twin & earth)  lighting cable. Most likely there could be some in a skip near you??
    • Southwark's recycling guidance says to put shredded paper in the blue bin in a paper envelope or "small box". I've got far too much of it for that  (confidential stuff going back decades) - thanks to the EDF member who kindly gave me a shredder! It would be a "massive box". I have barely started  the shredding, and I've already got an extremely large bagful.   I've read online that you can put it into  large clear plastic bags in the bin for paper,  provided you  clearly label it "shredded paper" and it is obvious what it is. Does anybody know if Southwark would accept it like that? Alternatively, can anyone make use of it for animal bedding or packaging material or adding to  compost?
    • I'm happy to report that some foxgloves are now looking great in my garden. The bees are loving them. Also managed to grow some corn poppies from seed. I've left some decaying logs in the corner so maybe there are some stag beetles there.
