Herrods is over for another year, it's door has closed for the final time.

Thanks to everyone that visited the best (and probably only) art junk shop of 2013. Whether you were appalled, amused, intrigued, disinterested or amazed? always remember the Herrods motto 'Melius mihi hedum potest pingere' (bearing in mind the Herrods copywriter doesn't know the first thing about Latin).

Much gratitude has to go to Dave at Junk&Gems as well, for his leap of faith, sense of humour and hard work.

Here's a few photos of the final days...

Neogeometrist Carl Cashman's hand painted vase sold before it was even on it's display plinth. Watch out for him in 2014, he's got a full year planned with several group shows and a solo show in the US.

Carrie Reichardt, the self-proclaimed renegade potter, was a hot seller this year. And with her exhibiting at the V&A in 2014 she's giving those Romans a good run for their mosaic money.

A chocolate orange meets the 70s via palette knife and spray can, 'Herrods Beige'.

And finally, to everyone that could be ars*d with reading this thread let alone taking the time to post, thanks. Have a great New Year and may 2014 bring you health, happiness and prosperity.

Didn't want to disappoint... the official Herrods seedy sweat shop just delivered some samples.

No mugs I'm afraid, apart from me, but here's one I produced to celebrate Queenies Diamond Jubilee.

    • I haven't had a rude EVRI delivery but last week I had an unexpected delivery at 10.42 pm. He didn't ring the bell or knock on the door (or rattle the letter flap) but just took a photo and put the box down.  If it hadnt been for the door camera giving us a beep we would never have known there was a parcel ready to sit there all night.
    • Sorry if I’m being slow but there’s no point in having a gate then is there?  Would have thought it was basic manners to respect someone’s property
    • I didn't say wedge it "slightly" open. I meant to wedge it fully open.
    • I have a rescue Spanish greyhound (galgo) from the charity mentioned above. You can contact Greyhounds in Need or one of the more local Kent greyhound rescue charities. They are fantastic family dogs. They do love walkies 2 or 3 times a day but they actually don't need to be walked too far and then they will happily loaf around on the sofa being very chill. They are brilliant with kids but not recommended if you own a cat as they have a strong prey drive. They also should be kept on the lead in local parks. They prefer to be around other sight-hounds (well my one does) and there are loads of local sighthound owners in Peckham, Crystal Palace etc and a very lively WhatsApp group that is brilliant if you need dog sitting as you can usually find someone to do that for free in return for you looking after the dog at a later date etc.
