Da Yoof hanging around Goodrich Rd/Dunstans Rd mini-roudabout...(Lounged)

I forgot to mention it was Lounged for going off topic and being too chatty.

Apologies SCSB79 but as you had posted a concluding post I decided to move it to the Lounge where the conversation could continue. I can de-Lounge should you request it, I got da power.

But I didn't did I. If you want a debate why don't you start one instead of hiding behind you so-called witticisms.

Wrong side of bed, Jah?

I just had a sudden thought that with this being the third thread in as many weeks about 'gangs/groups' of (mostly) black youths coupled with a few facts such as black youths being disproportionately more likely (than eg white youths) to be the victim of crime; to be involved in crime and last but not least to be suspected of being involved in crime even if they aren't - in a forum where most people spend more time arguing about whether you can say 'a group of black youths' if 100% of them aren't black, or black enough.. then possibly there might be other avenues for discussion here.

But if you want to put it all down to hi-jinks because when you were a lad you used to hang around the off licence and throw chips at your mates, then fine.

I am aforementioned neighbour to SCSB79 and I did speak to the safer neighbourhood team and they did say that they would send a 'unit' round (sounds heavy) if we ever needed them to.. its just difficult to know whether its necessary or not.. as mamafeelgood says though, don't think of it as hassling the police but helping them... I just wish da yoof would hang around on their own doorsteps.. not ours.!

    • Thought others may be interested to help a local community centre help others.    My bank account offers roundup and it’s been growing all year. As well as treating myself or putting it towards a train ticket to see my family I’ve made a donation to the Albrighton. They can use donations at any time but I hope my donation will go towards the Christmas hampers.    Can you support them so they can provide Christmas hampers?   https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/albrightoncommunityfridge?utm_id=1&utm_term=M22JKQb6W   A donation of £50 will pay for a hamper to feed a family over this Christmas period. A donation of £30 will pay for a hamper to feed someone living on their own over the Christmas period.
    • I've never got Christmas pudding. The only times I've managed to make it vaguely acceptable to people is thus: Buy a really tiny one when it's remaindered in Tesco's. They confound carbon dating, so the yellow labelled stuff at 75% off on Boxing Day will keep you going for years. Chop it up and soak it in Stones Ginger Wine and left over Scotch. Mix it in with a decent vanilla ice cream. It's like a festive Rum 'n' Raisin. Or: Stick a couple in a demijohn of Aldi vodka and serve it to guests, accompanied by 'The Party's Over' by Johnny Mathis when people simply won't leave your flat.
    • Not miserable at all! I feel the same and also want to complain to the council but not sure who or where best to aim it at? I have flagged it with our local MP and one Southwark councillor previously but only verbally when discussing other things and didn’t get anywhere other than them agreeing it was very frustrating etc. but would love to do something on paper. I think they’ve been pretty much every night for the last couple of weeks and my cat is hating it! As am I !
    • That is also a Young's pub, like The Cherry Tree. However fantastic the menu looks, you might want to ask exactly who will cook the food on the day, and how. Also, if  there is Christmas pudding on the menu, you might want to ask how that will be cooked, and whether it will look and/or taste anything like the Christmas puddings you have had in the past.
