Child Minder Wanted SE15 - advice tips and recommendations gratefully received

Recommended Posts

Hello EDF Mums and Dads,

We are looking for a child minder to look after our one year old son from the end of February 2014. To start with we are looking for 2 long days per week (8-6) going up to three days in June 2014. Although the days are not yet set it is likely to be a Tuesday and Thursday to start with. We are looking for someone close by in SE15 in the Bellenden Road area. It would be great to hear your recommendations, tips and advice as well as from child minders who might be available in the area.

THANKS so much everyone

Hi,

Are you still looking for a childminder for Feb 2014?

Julie Warwick is excellent and has an available place. She lives in Tyrrell Road, East Dulwich, SE22. Her contact numbers are 0208 693 0664/ 07943 549 721. She has had over 20 years experience, flexible and most of all kind hearted.

As she has a wealth of experience, she also has many amazing references.

Any questions, do not hesitate to PM me or contact Julie directly.

Kindest Regards.

I would like to second Julie, I and quite a few of my friends have used her wonderful services for years now through various children!

I am happy to have a chat if you would like, just drop me a PM.

Amy

Hi, i'm looking for the same thing! Although more towards Nunhead area (still SE15). I don't need the childcare until I go back to work in September, it seems that you have to book nursery places now but is it the same for childminders? Or am I too early?

Any local recommendations would be great :-)

    • As the days shorten having evening fireworks for e.g. birthday parties becomes more realistic, the idea that fireworks is only about Guy Fawkes day or New Year's Eve is not a rule. I personally do not like fireworks, but other do, and I would see no reason to stop other's pleasure. I am sure the local Puritans will object, and there are issues about disturbing wild life with unexpected noise. But I'm in favour of simple pleasures. And many do like fireworks.
    • That's great you have the cat! Sorry to interfere, and feel free to ignore this, but it might not be a great idea to post your mobile number on a public forum? You can message the owner on the forum via a private message.
    • Copleston centre hire for adult parties
    • Most churches rent out halls for children's' parties but rarely adult parties, Christ Church only does afternoon parties,   The East Dulwich Community centre hires out halls to 9 pm only and all music needs to be on a sound restrictor as is in a residential area. St Johns with St Clements have a small hall but not sure if they allow adult parties. Nunhead Green has a newish community centre with a couple of different size halls. Most places seem to charge around £40 ph  with a deposit of £100/200 (returned if no damage or excess cleaning needed.
