Actually they've been pretty chilled, very enjoyable. Normal fridays down the pub type things really.

It's really not been cliquey by any stretch, most people have met just once or twice now, but people just drop in to say hi or stop for a few, including many lurkers and occasional posters, you know who you are and hope to see you tonight.

The more the merrier :)

I may saunter past on my walk home and peer through the window at you all to suss you out. Then again if you're all on the otherside of the glass and some mad person starts peering at you through the window...you'll know it's me!! hurrah!

I may wear a cunning disguise...what should that be...(?)I could dress up as the rabbit from Donnie Darko....that should scare a few people including myself.

Tragically my real name means 'deck swabber' in a rather dated french.

But the family has been traced back to a footpad who strolled over after the original Catholic inspired holocaust of the 16th century. He came over at managed to get a local Kent barmaid up the duff before getting hung. A footpad BTW is a highwayman without the nous to steal a horse.

Some heritage eh? Fecund failed thieves.

Poor Bumbalina - I fear a life of perpetual midnight flits to escape from the the forces of law and order awaits her...

That and the regular peeling of tar and feathers from her beloved or spooning soup into his mouth as he languishes in the stocks..

am still trying to finish up my work and haven't even started to ring around for babysitters. Sullen au-pair is off out tonight with one of her many men so I may well have to stay at home eating curry with mr chuff.

If I do make it I will probably looked like a scared rabbit.

    • It's a criminal offense. CICs can't fundraise on the street - they're a less regulated form of organization and that lighter touch means you can't do certain things until you commit to greater regulation.   If you want to fundraise on the street then you need to become a charity. if they have mislead a shop by stating that they are a charity, they're breaking criminal law. if they're on the pavement, again they are not licensed to do that and are breaking the law.
    • Excellent, I hope so!
    • It's certainly a risky strategy, as well as ticking everyone off, the gazunderer risks losing the property and also their costs incurred during the process e.g. legal & survey. It's hard to mitigate against but I always think that if you're desperate to sell, don't ever convey that  to your estate agent, as that info more than likely gets passed on to potential buyers. You should be doing that regardless of whether gazundering is happening or not, as it will affect the offers you receive... That's correct. Some agents have policies in place to 'discourage' gazundering and gazumping, but ultimately it comes down to the morals of the buyer...
    • The owner may not be on this forum. Maybe you should let the police know you have it, in case the owner has reported it as stolen? Also, are you sure the owner hadn't just left it there temporarily while going into their house, or putting their bike away or getting it out? What street was it in?
