Hey, I caught that too - fortunately I was having an insomniac moment and was already up reading a dreadful chicklit novel - only sort worth reading at that time in the morning.

Dreadful taste in music!

I think someone might have - or else he drove off, it stopped suddenly, much to our relief. But I have to be honest and say that any kind of music is better than

ah-ah ahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Ah- ha. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

[pause]

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH! WAH! WAH! WAH! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!!! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!!!

Sounds like my neighbours having extremely noisy how's yer father. I do wish they'd shut the window on a Sunday afternoon. Haven't quite thought of the appropriate thing to yell at them yet.

Poor Mr Moos - what in the name of God are you doing to him at such an ungodly hour? Hmmm?

If he is in love, let him spend the early hours composing poems extolling the virtues of his sweetheart and then go and seranade her at that time! If, however, he has been dumped, then look out for a hose connected to his exhaust!

Do you mean PGC's shagging neighbour or my car-loader? An unusual expression of the joys of love, musical car-loading? Or when spring comes and young men's fancies lightly turn to thoughts of love, are we likely to find musical car-loaders bustin' out all over? It sounds most romantic.

If he is in love he should be making the noises that peckhamgatecrashers neighbours are making on a sunday afternoon rather than playing music loud in the early hours,......

    • I was so sick of being ghosted by tradespeople, but contacted Hussein on the advice of a neighbour.  I'm so glad I did. They did a great job, were communicative, started and finished exactly when they said they would and were really tidy and respectful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for a reliable and great value painter.
    • I think for the English, turtles are salt-water (sea) beasts whereas terrapins are fresh water, but I know e.g. Americans use 'turtle' for all chelonians including tortoises.
    • They're turtle-y different.  😉 They hibernate, burying themselves under mud or at the bottom of the pond. There have been regular sightings in there (and in Dulwich Park) for years and terrapins can live for 15-20 years in the wild, 30+ years in captivity. They are however an invasive species - whether or not the RSPCA or a local wildlife charity would come out to try and trap / remove them is another matter.
    • Hmm they seem to disappear in the winter - and there are some who say that terrapins are a kind of turtle.
