Hi all

I am 38 weeks pregnant and was diagnosed with polyhydramnios a few weeks ago. Apart from being extremely uncomfortable, I haven't been overly worried as my midwife seems pretty laid back about it and I am having scans every two weeks at Kings to monitor things. However, I stupidly decided to do some further research (ie. I got on Google) and am now worried about things like cord prolapses and haemorrhaging.

Has anyone else had polyhydramnios in their pregnancies and can give me some idea about what to expect/do when I go into labour? I have an appointment with my midwife on Friday and will be asking her for more detailed guidance, but anything from anyone who has actual first hand experience would be really appreciated.

Thanks x

Hi bonfire

I had this as well ..... I think stay away from google!!!! I had no problems, although let's just say when my waters broke, there was definately a lot of it! So be prepared on that front! When I was told I had it, the midwife was not concerned at all, I think a doctor was nearby when I gave birth ..... Precautionary measures, and all turned out well. Good luck to you, I think this is fairly common ....

    • Hello everyone, We have lost our wonderful moggie, Cookie.  She's been missing for over a week now and was lost around the back of our house on rail track land around Croxted Road/Turney Road junction. Please do keep an eye out for her and if you see her please let us know urgently as she isn't familiar with the area at all, we are very worried.  She has a microchip (with my brother's contact details) She's black with ginger/brown markings, very distinctive. If you have had sightings of her or seen her at anytime please let do let me know, Henna 07941 047094 If you could post on your local/street groups too, I'd be very grateful. Thank you!
