If you're nearish to Peckham Rye station you can get the Overground to Clapham Junction and change there for a fast train to Gatwick (the ones that go from Victoria - C Junction - E Croydon - Gatwick). That's my preferred route. I hate travelling to Heathrow; as a non-driver it's certainly cheapest on public transit to get to LHR but it takes at least 1h45. The Peckham Rye - LGW route is maybe about an hour.

If going to Heathrow and don't fancy the Piccadilly line, you can also go from Clapham Junction to Feltham and then a short ride on the 285 bus which takes around 20/25 mins.

    • Another recommendation for Adam on the Dartmouth Road. Have been going there for years. I will never go anywhere else (unless I move home to somewhere far away!) No faff, very reasonal price and nice atmosphere 👍
    • Thanks so much I’ll try that too… might still try getting hold of an air purifier as well if at all possible - want to try cover all bases!
    • The 185 is often the same. But that's why buses sometimes (and annoyingly) stop to "regulate the service". To be fair, it's often due to traffic conditions. If there is not much traffic, the one behind catches up with the one in front.
    • I imagine this is because of the average  additional time involved, due to the styles. You could have asked the reason? I will ask, next time I'm in there.  Many salons have this differential pricing.
