Whats good in East Dulwich for Valentines day? Too Early?

Hi Guys,

I have decided not to go too far this year however Valentine?s Day is a special occasion for me and my partner as it?s our anniversary too! (I know I know I?m it?s so very very cheesy!)

Does any1 know of a good place to go in East Dulwich? I'm fed up of paying through the nose up London and travelling back etc

Koz on Lordship Lane is a very nice Mediterranean restaurant and would be perfect for Valentine's Day. It is also very reasonably priced :)

Seriously - Kos? For a Valentine's meal? For a fun night out in a group, maybe - but definitely not a romantic date. Not unless you're trying to recreate that meal you both loved forty years ago when you honeymooned on the Costa Brava.

The best option is a candlelit home-cooked meal - romance can be found anywhere but a restaurant on February 14th.

But if you must go out, then do it properly. Franklins, Palmerston, Toasted - or if you want something a little different and little less cliched then Peckham Bazaar.

Koz is not a romantic restaurant, it's an average Greek restaurant at the very best!

I agree, no way would I go to koz for a romantic meal, infact my partner suggested at last year and I point blank said no!! We normally go to Swadesh Indian restaurant, far more intimate for a lovely romantic meal.

I've lived in East Dulwich for 25 years. Regardless of whether or not it was my first post, I was making a genuine recommendation. Evidently others do not feel that Kos is ideal for a Valentine's meal, but I stand by my view. It is a reasonably priced restaurant which serves good food and provides a enjoyable experience.

The Italian restaurant on Melbourne Grove is lovely. It does get crowded as it is very small, but the atmosphere is usually friendly and the food is excellent.

Le Chardon on Lordship Lane , perfect for Valentines night, they do a set dinner (and al a carte menu ) and it's very reasonably priced , book in advance though as it will be very busy .
