Advice on where to buy first shoes

My son has just started walking, so in a couple of weeks we will need to get him his first pair of shoes.

Does anyone have any advice on the best place to get him fitted? It would be nice to have somewhere with a good selection of different brands & styles...

I would try either Emmanuelle Marshall who is based in the Ed warehouse on zenoria street or Gently Elephant in Brockley both have been great for fitting and choice for my daughter. My son is a few weeks off walking and I expect I'll head to gently elephant for his first pair.

Also recommend Gently Elephant in Brockley. They have a great range and seem knowledgeable. If you are quick, I think their sale is still on too!

Cannot recommend Dorothy at Emmanuel Marshall in ED Warehouse highly enough.

Her fit is expert and her range really good. We always go there for shoes. My son didn't walk until our first pair from Dorothy,and within a week, he was away!

I've bought shoes from both of the places mentioned above and would recommend. I also like Biff in Dulwich Village, has been great for toddler boy's shoes.

I'd also recommend Emmanuel Marshall at ED warehouse. The lady there (Dorothy?) is lovely and good at getting little feet measured. I also never feel under pressure to buy (in fact on one occasion she had told me not to bother just yet as the shoes my son was in were fine).

Gently Elephant currently have a sale on with a few things remaining - mainly boys in small sizes, so ideal for you. They are really lovely in there. Haven't been to ED Warehouse so can't compare.

I'd also say try to wait as long as possible. The longer they can walk without shoes the better. We just used moccis until she wanted to walk outside.
