Hi,

I'm moving to a new house share next Sat (1st Feb) and am looking for a reliable man with a van to help me in the morning.

Moving from East Dulwich to Herne Hill and would like a hand loading and unloading the van at each end. Ideally looking to do this in just the one trip as I'm only moving the contents of my bedroom, so van should be large enough to accomodate the below bulky items:

Double mattress

Large chest of drawers

2x small cupboards

10x vintage suitcases

10x small boxes of belongings

Bags of clothes could always be moved in a car trip if they didn't fit.

Would love to hear from someone with a quote, or if you know of anyone, recommendations greatly received.

Thanks,

Gemma

you put in your job details and van companies submit quotes and you can pick any one (or none if they don't suit you - there is no obligation to take a quote)

It works out quite cheap, especially if you are flexible, as van companies can fit your job in with others in the area.

i used them and it worked out well

    • I think there's a lot in what you say. Although bi election results aren't usually indicative of GE results, I was horrified to see Reform support was so high in what had previously been a Labour stronghold, Labour and Conservative results reflecting the tired old parties they are.  It isn't our generation (sorry @Sue if I'm being presumptuous!) that will decide the outcome of elections but those in their 20s, 30s, 40s ... if they can be bothered to vote. The Greens and Reform now present a real choice instead of two centrist main parties of the last 30 years which has put people off voting. Perhaps locally I will continue to vote Labour, i really couldn't bear for the LibDems to return and we have to consider the demographic of the whole of Southwark. But come the GE I will probably vote Green.
    • I agree but in the case of McAsh, that would just have left his constituents without a councillor for 3 months until the May elections. MPs switching parties is really galling. If an MP is suspended for law breaking etc., then a recall petition can be issued and, if enough of the constituents support it, a by-election is called. I think the same should apply for defectors.
