Socialising Record Shop

Hi, has anyone noticed that the record shop below the Cafe on Lordship Lane seems to have something going on on weekend evenings? Has anyone been down there? Is it just the owner and his mates or is something fun happening down there?

I think they have a little sing song over their coffees ( from the cafe) along to old records...but then I have a vivid imagination.

the guy who runs the shop is called john, (the beardy one), he's a mate of mine , really nice fella. say hello to him

Cool, I dare everyone in Dulwich to go to the record shop and say "Hi John!How are you?!" The poor man will be all confused trying to place all of us since we all know his name and he doesn't know us.

So does the record shop do good business?

What DOES go on down there? Elvis and 2Pac hiding down there?!

he's only just opened the shop. He is also a music promoter and does some wicked live nights in the area.

They have live music down there quite regularly. It is always advertised in the ?What?s on? section of the forum. Go on down and have a look around they?re really nice folks and there is loads of good and interesting stuff.

Was supposed to be live music there last night but the guy was sick and it was cancelled :(

Why not go down the steps and have a look for yourself - that way you may even be able to influence the outcome of the "does the record shop do good business?" question.

If you like music and are friendly and sociable you will probably have a good time.

He knows his music and is sound, there's a very varied selection of vinyl and CDs.

As mentioned above previously he also promotes various bands/acts.

Good addition to the area.

They are very nice people running the record shop and I've even helped out once when they were a bit short (about 4ft 9ins). Enjoyed a couple of acoustic set there one Saturday afternoon too a few weeks back.
