Just to let you know DH had terrible experience with this dental surgery. We booked early appt to take our 3 little ones to see the dentist for checkup before school which they knew about, waited 20mins and they were seeing other patients. When prompted the receptionist didn't really care (given that there are 3 twitchy children eagerly waiting as well) at which point as it was getting close to school time DH complained about the wait with no apology or explanation given. He decided to leave the surgery and she (receptionist) just said "have a good day". Rubbish we will obviously be changing surgeries. Place just isn't the same these days and I know a few of the other dentists have left.
Yes sorry Northcross Rd! Waiting was never that much of a problem before for us, just their appointments management and on this occasion lack of professionalism. One time I got a call to say why I was late for an appt, when they had booked me in at the wrong time themselves, the dentist actually apologised and told me quite a few people had experienced problems with their booking system and were booked in at wrong times. I used to go to Gardens as a child to see Dr Freeman, think he's retired now. Didn't have good experiences I must say as a child, hope it's better these days.

I tried to take my children there on 2 separate occasions and both time we got there to be told that our appointment was cancelled with as no dentist, neither time did I receive a phone all to tell me this so a wasted journey including one at 8am in the morning.

I have since moved them to my practice which is in Lewisham but very good and very reliable

Would not bother with the NX Rd one again even though it is a 5 min walk from my house- useless

    • Just as one example, the grass in a least some of  the tree pits in Ulverscroft Road appears to have been sprayed. If it's not the council who has done it, then I wonder if someone is trying to kill the trees 😭 although I doubt if that would work, as the council have sprayed tree pits in the past (ignoring handwritten notices by my then very young grandchildren asking them not to spray as they had sowed flower seeds there) 🤬 Grass in the pavement nearby appears to have been neither sprayed nor scraped out. I'm quite confused.
    • They aren't. They are removing them manually, scraping and cutting them out. I've seen them doing it on my road and surrounding roads. I can't imagine that they would have different methods in different parts of East Dulwich.
    • I see. But as I read it, Tesco would still need the agreement of the owners/ leaseholder to submit proposals, so would need Poundland’s cooperation? I suppose we’ll have to wait while this plays out. There’s applications re this site on the Southwark planning portal dating back over 70 years. In 1954, Woolworth’s applied to convert the original 4 shops here (Nos 29-35) into one Woolies but the council refused because the flats above the shops would be lost and there was a local housing shortage following the war. Small businesses being displaced by big chains on Lordship Lane was already a trend back then.
    • I see what you mean.  Perhaps the "alcohol licensing flyer for Tesco Express on the Poundland site" confirmed by the OP has been removed then.
