We also got our from granite london and DO NOT recommend them. They came and made a template and when they fitted it (I was out at a family emergency) it had a massive gap around the back - so large that my husband had to plaster the entire wall to fill the gap and the sink was cut about 5 cm too far to the left - he had to drastically cut up our cupboards to make it fit in. My sister-in-law had paid them in our absence and they refused to sort anything out as we'd paid. Was comparatively cheap and looks good now, but not worth the risk IMO.

We used Worktop Envy and got a Unistone worktop (quartz composite) which we're thrilled with. Been in for about 6 months and totally stain and scartch free (it's off white). They have a small showroom in Purley and were just about the cheapest I found for Unistone.

Try Paul Challens

Based in Arundel West Sussex

They supply, template, fit for the higher end of the trade

They're always in London too

Try Diresco for a white-ish marble effect (made in Belguim) , less expensive than Silestone

Here's their site http://www.pchallen.co.uk

    • That's great to know. But when you compare it to the roughly  34,000 that Cat Protection rehome per year it does make you scratch your head a bit doesn't it..?

    • Quote "it was quite clear that it wanted to nip me." Doesn't say clearly that it tried to bite you , but instead implies that you had the impression, right or wrong that it wanted to nip you.  unless you are clear others will read it how you write it.  As for being a jobsworth, what a quaint old expression, haven't heard that for a long while.
    • Crook locks can be sawn through, or the steering wheel to which it is attached, I know to my own cost. The safest additional security measure is what's called a ghost immobiliser, which cannot be traced through the car's electronics, meaning it is difficult to bypass. They cost a bomb however.
