I was told by Southwark when I moved to ED in 1990 that the tube extension would take some years before it reaches ED, "possibly as long as 11 years".

24 years later its literally no closer to being built, so we can flap our gums all day about it - but it ain't coming.

I have a plan jimbo buy a van and a shovel and I will give you some work your van can be used to take the cycles to the tip or scrap metal yard and with your shovel you can start digging for the bakerloo line good luck and happy digging sorry diggin
Should lack of education no matter by self or schooling [bad grammar and punctuation] exclude people from posting? Was there not a football manager in the witness box recently who exclaimed he had difficulty in reading and writing and had never written a letter? I think so and a VERY RICH man. Are those[?] complaining richer than he?

"Should lack of education no matter by self or schooling [bad grammar and punctuation] exclude people from posting?"

no one is excluding him - just saying it's hard to read

But given his one-note posting history there isn't much to read anyway

    • He wasn't great when interviewed on Channel 4 News this evening either, but he may get some respite tomorrow with the breaking Nandy story.
    • I was referring more to his performance at PMQs yesterday. It was quite a riot! Almost topped Mastermind
    • Agreed, he should not be held accountable over the mess up over release of prisoners. On the other hand he did himself no favours with his gaffes on the BBC Master Mind programme where he passed on five questions. Where he did answer, here are some of his responses.... When asked who succeeded Henry VIII, Lammy incorrectly answered “Henry VII,” When asked which French scientist won Nobel prizes for both physics and chemistry?” Lammy responded with “Antoinette” When asked which fortress was built to defend Paris and later used as a prison, he answered “Versailles". When asked which variety of blue English cheese is often taken with port, he answered "Leicester" If nothing else he was entertaining.
    • Why do you think he should be toast? All these problems with the prison service apparently go way back, long before Labour took over.
