I accept that people are busy with the local elections, but the 1 million pound(?) project for the park is down in the London Party local election leaflet that came round so it would be nice to know a little bit more.

Hi everyone,

I know plans and consultation documents are being developed for the Southwark website. I won't however, be able to find out when this will go on-line until after the election,

Renata

It goes from just inside the 1 'o'clock club playground, past the roundabout, past the springy boards, under a little bridge and terminates in a clump of rocks. If your walking from the caf to Barry road it's on your left.
I definitely think both toddler play areas could do with a revamp. They are both a bit dismal and uninspiring compared to the rest of the park - the play areas at goose green and hillyfields are both much better if the powers that be are looking for ideas. I think we need to see the plans to be able to comment properly, but i for one am pleased there is some sort of plan in motion!

There is an update!

Southwark Council has selected two architects to design new play facilities and a changing room area at Peckham Rye Park.

It was announced on 21 March 2016 that Curl la Tourelle + Head has been chosen to design new changing rooms next to the football pitches and a new children?s playroom, while Turkington Martin has been appointed to conceive a new children?s play area for Peckham Rye Common.

The project is funded by the Olympic Legacy Funding and the council?s capital funding.

Barrie Hargrove, cabinet member for parks, leisure and public health, said that the council was ?very keen to ensure the local community remains involved in the project throughout? and would therefore be establishing a stakeholder reference group ?to keep information flowing to all interested parties?.

He added: "This time of austerity has raised many challenges for us, but I am proud to say that despite this Southwark Council has still been able to invest millions in our parks and open spaces, including this significant project in Peckham Rye that recognises the importance of this historic open space to residents.

    • Miss Robson is the last of the old school independent vets. All the chains are have seriously hiked their prices over the last few years which now makes pet ownership only possible for the wealthy few. Even with pet insurance -( which often excludes items or has ‘deductibles’ ) it is just so much money. A visit with some medication is often £150 - £200. The vets themselves are excellent.
    • Awful. A Google search came up with this, but will he check his office email over Christmas? Maybe worth also contacting local councillor? 'To contact Southern Housing's CEO, Paul Hackett, you can try his direct email, [email protected], or use the general contact email [email protected], as well as calling their main number, 0300 303 1066, for general inquiries or to be directed to the executive level.' Also, from the website: https://www.southernhousing.org.uk/latest-news/2025/contacting-us-over-the-festive-period   'Contacting us about an emergency? If you have an emergency outside of the above times over the festive period, such as severe flooding, an uncontainable leak, gas leak, complete electrical failure or lift breakdown, please call us on 0300 303 1066' I hope it is sorted out soon.

    • Sorry but I think it's best if people just check things for themselves when they buy things. In three shops/restaurants (from some years back) I just avoid the places concerned, as in all three  cases I was pretty sure it wasn't a genuine mistake, and in one place  it happened more than once and usually late at night.
