Just wondering if anyone has recently stayed at either of these villa clusters. Looking at them for a week in June.

Any feedback on either really appreciated; location, cr?che, villa standard, gardens, pool, restaurants, stuff to do locally etc. There's very little in the way of reviews online or they are very out of date which always worries me.

Also any feedback about the Islands they are on, Lefkada and Zakynthos, would be great as we are thinking of spending a second week on the same island

Many Thanks

Susan

Not hugely helpful but we are going to the lefkada villas this summer - they are new to simpson for this year - they used to be part of the Thompson travel empire I think. I've heard good reports of both places though and have used simpson travel before and always been happy...

Hi there, I went to Peryali villas in September '10 with my twin toddlers. I have to say I had mixed feelings about it - the villas were very small and relatively basic. The kids club was excellent (the best bit about the holiday although we didn't want to leave them in a kids club for that much of the time) with excellent English staff who really cared about the kids.

But there were certain things about it that were just lacking - eg. the cafe by the pool was run by a bizarre British couple who thought they were running some sort of exotic greasy spoon - the food was very basic and not very appetising. With young kids I really wanted to have the option of staying by the pool sometimes but it was empty most days - nobody stayed around the pool because the food was terrible.

I also found the surrounding area a bit uninspiring and despite managing to find a decent foodie restaurant in the main town a few miles away, most places were pretty average. Had a far superior (and actually I think quite a lot cheaper!) holiday the following summer at Ammos Hotel in Crete!

Thanks iclaudia,

I love the look of Ammos Hotel but we really want something with a seperate sleeping area for our toddler (its a holiday afterall!). Also very tempted by the creche option for a few sessions at Mousses. I think we have discounted Peryali as the island is less interesting.

That all said Crete would be our top choice - Was Ammos really amazing? What was the playroom ect like?

Anyone have any feedback on Mousses? or somewhere similar on Crete?

Thanks so much

Susan

We went to Mousses last year with a then 3 year old and another family with a 3 and 1.5 year old. The childcare was AMAZING - clean, friendly, professional, great outdoor space. And I believe the lady running it has returned this year. Although all villas were booked the childcare wasn't busy and although we'd booked in advance it wasn't necessary for the year we'd been.I've got to rush off now but will PM you my mobile as there's lots more good and room for improvement comments I can give you if you wish.

Hi we went to Periyali with simpson travel in 2012, at the time our daughter was 10 months old.

The villa was clean, agreed basic, but she had her own room,

Cot, high chair , steriliser baby bath. Though all provided

The cr?che was amazing brilliant English staff, I really could not fault this.

The restaurant on site was basic, but ok for lunches, there were a couple of Greek restaurant about 5-10 min walk away near the beach, these were fine for a couple of night, but one did do take away...

The villa had a BBQ, which we did use, and we found the local shop about 5 min drive ordered the meat in for you...

I would return , though we now have a second child...

Oh we did have a car, and did some driving around, I do think that the Greeks are always so welcoming to children, so I would certainly return

AI suggests: Upcycling old cheque books can involve repurposing the paper from old checks into creative items like notebooks, journals, art pieces, gift tags, bookmarks, decorative paper, or even small boxes, by cutting, decorating, and assembling the paper to create new functional or decorative objects, while ensuring any personal banking information is properly obscured or removed.
