Urgent advice needed

My daughter is staying at a hotel near gatwick as she is due to fly out on holiday early in the morning. Whilst having dinner someone has broken into their room and stolen their bags containing their pasports and tickets. All their luggage has been checked in at the airport already.

Can anyone give me some advice as to what to do re their passports etc????

does she/ you have a photocopy of their passport & photo id driving licence on them? Sometimes if travelling in europe they may accept that check with gatwick etc

they are travelling to Jamaica, and at the moment I cant reach them on their phones

I know the passport office issue same day emergency passports, but they do cost an awful lot and I am afraid I doubt they will get them in time for the early morning flight, they also involve a lot of running around gathering identification, I had to run around like a nutter when I suddenly realised, two days before my son was due to fly out, his passport had expired. No chance they were covered by insurance is there? perhaps they could rebook for another week? How awful and what an awful start to someone's holidays, they must be heartbroken. I think you may find the airport to be quite sympathetic, I hope they are and that they don't have too much trouble getting their luggage back, what a nightmare.

their luggage was booked in earlier, so they should be able to get that back no problem.It's their passports really. tickets can be replaced I should think at the airport, and I dont know if they had credit cards etc in the bag
