hi today after confiming a sale yesterday and agreed too the sum of 20.00 pounds and collection today at 09.00am.

on my arrival I was told by the seller that she was made an offer of 30.00 pounds and the item was sold adding that she had sent me an email. she also added that she was selling and gave a wry smile.

I must admit I did not look on my EDF messages and upon coming home bleary eyed and making a coffee.

I noted that the seller had PM me at 9.00PM. well I was arranging transport and getting a early night than too look at my PM's.

As polite as can be I told her no problem, however arriving home I was miffed and felt I should say something to the EDF buyers and also sellers, as I am sure there was something similar too this some months ago.

If this seller is new too EDF than I will step back but if this something she tends to do then I suggest she signs up with Ebay.co.uk as a seller and auction her items instead of stating the asking price and then agree with the buyer and arrange collection times only to sell to another buyer at a higher price than first offered.

Me thinks this is dodgy. Hey ho life goes on and be happy.

please can any one confirm what it the rules as if I was a seller naming a price that is what it is unless I stated a near offer aand if it was free then first come first served.

have a great week end too all.

Confused - you didn't check your messages and that is somehow the seller's fault?

hey I admit I did not check my emails however the seller had my mobile details the day before and ad pmd me from the time we had agreed the sale and collection time 09.00am this morning upon her request. 6hours after she sends an email. she could have texted me 08.45am today I end this trail as it will get petty for no reason and life is too short. out of here peace.
I'm not sure there are rules but agree that if a sale has been agreed the person should stick to it. Failing that a better effort to let you know should have been made, especially as she had your phone number. I wouldn't necessarily have checked my email over that period either. I guess some people are just like that unfortunately. I've had experience in the past of trying to give things away and people not turning up when they've said and not letting me know. I know from messages on the boards that I am not alone in this.

It *may* not be quite as simple as that because searching through the OP's recent posts he/she send an open message saying ...QUOTE "hi I have pm you please consider this set as sold and I will collect tomorrow pls call on the number in the pm thank you... UNQUOTE The sent a separate PM.

As a sometime-seller, this type of open response can be frustrating as it tends to cut out other prospective buyers but on the other hand the vendor could have considered making a call on the number provided in the PM.

Just proves - two wrongs don't make a right and disasters are very rarely caused by one contributing factor only.

    • It happened again tonight. This time a group of kids ( I hate saying that, because it makes them sound less intimidating than they are), threatened to throw a water bomb at me. When I dared them, they started lobbing them. Then they started saying they were going to kill my dog and one of them jumped over the fence of the Japanese Garden and took a running kick at my dog, who got out of the way. He jumped back over the fence, then came back, came within a meter of me and threw a water bomb really hard at me.  I can't be sure it was exactly the same crowd as last time, though I suspect the male ring leader could be.  The police came and were amazing - as was the park warden - and are fairly confident of the identity of one of them and think they may have tried to arrest him before.  There were maybe as many as 15 of them, aged 16-18, all Caucasian, girls and boys (girls being just as aggressive as the boys). The ring leader is a slight man, dark hair / eyes, possibly with facial hair about 5'6", petite, wearing an all-blue tracksuit.  So please be careful when you're in the park around 6.30 / 7pm. The local SNT have been informed.
