Recommendation for specialist plasterer to restore period features

Can anyone recommend a plasterer to refit period plaster features - specifically coving, and ceiling rings plus cross shape across ceiling? Had some quotes but they seem extremely steep (circa 4k). Not looking for moulds to be made - just fitting off the shelf materials to a high standard. Also would be good to hear what people have been paying for this sort of job.

Thanks!

I can recommend Paul Brooks from Kent Mouldings (http://www.kentmouldings.co.uk/). His workmanship is excellent (and there's the additional bonus of being a really nice chap), and is often commented on by other tradespeople. Having told him my misgivings over tradespeople, he was quite happy to invite me to view his work on a job that he was carrying out in north London. Price for installing cornice and ceiling roses in our was very reasonable also, I thought.

I?ve just had Paul from Kent Mouldings install plaster coving and ceiling rose to our reception room and he?s done a truly fantastic job. We got three quotes and he was the cheapest. He?s a lovely guy, very professional and very neat and tidy. I couldn?t recommend him highly enough if your looking for plaster cornice / coving.

Just wanted to add to this thread.

We are so happy we contacted Paul to fit cornicing and ceiling roses in two rooms of our Victorian house. He was able to fit the job in at short notice and gave us a really reasonable price, as well as sourcing exactly the cornicing and ceiling roses we wanted. Most importantly he did a brilliant job of installing them and we are so happy with the result. Paul and his colleague Steve were also lovely guys to have around! Couldn?t recommend more highly.

    • Vapes aren't big yet - most people still get their Chinese B&H Gold from one of the 'barbers'. The theme park isn't a bad idea - Torbay are using their cash for an 'Agatha Christie Trail' - so it's not so far-fetched.   'One-eyed Cop Killer' Dale Cregan and, most chillingly of all, Simply Red's Mick Hucknall are also from the neck of the woods. Would you believe Hucknall's dad was an actual barber? Brian & Michael (Matchstalk Men & Matchstalk Cats & Dogs) lived at the top of my road, and were abetted by The St.Winifred's School Choir on that aberration. They, of course graduated to the unforgivable 'Theres No-one Quite Like Grandma'. A truly terrifying place.

    • Good idea for a theme park.  Obviously that would be in bad taste.  Although you can do the Jack the Ripper, Kray twins and no doubt other tours in London. Surely there are mobile/vape shops too
