Loft conversion advice

Hello, we are about to start the process of undertaking a loft conversion on our 3 bed 1930's semi. I was hoping someone who has done one recently could tell me how long the process takes to get the necessary building consents etc (assuming no party wall issues) before construction can begin. I understand that it is a permitted development, but that you do need to get council approval for plans etc.

I suggest you call two or three of the loft conversion companies that have been recommended on the forum, and get them round for a quote. It costs nothing, and you'll get lots of ideas to consider, plus answers to all your questions.
