Franklins or Palmerston for a special thank you Sunday lunch

Looking to take parents out for a nice meal on a Sunday next month as a Thank you for contributing to our wedding, have been to both Franklins and Palmerston and enjoyed them both but neither on a Sunday, any views on what would be more suitable/better?

Possibly tricky to call as both are good, or any other suggestions in fact?

No contest - Palmerston wins hands down, better menu, fantastic cooking, cannot fault the service in the restaurant.

Also, hugely in its favour - never had to stand at the bar FOR AGES like an utter lemon whilst the person* behind avoided eye contact and idly polished glasses whilst I was clearly trying to attract their attention to buy more drinks.

Franklins - Palmerston is inconsistent. I have had some good meals there but also some bad ones. When it is good it is equally as good as Franklins but sadly that is, in my experience, too often not the case.
