El Pibe
The equaliser sumed up what's great about the dutch team, robben's cynical dive what's awful. It was naive of the defender as they had it well covered, but robben, tut tut tut.The piblet has gone crazy over the world cup, is always acting out imaginary games, and penalties, but the thing he most of does is throw himself to the floor clutching his face and rolling around. Its equal parts hilarious and utterly depressing Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/44749-the-2014-world-cup-thread/page/27/#findComment-760503 Share on other sites
Annasfield
A link gets posted about a fan having a chunk of his ear bitten off in a racist attack and no one even comments. No outrage this time? Jeremy
Yeah of course it's disgusting, but there isn't really any debate to be had is there? Otta
Someone in my office just said this world cup had been rubbish "a real disappointment".I don't think they were joking either. No outrage this time?Sorry did this hapen on the pitch while millions of viewers looked on? And did it happen on 3 ocassions? Regardless of who the little rat plays for he's out of order and he's been punished. Instead of griping about it how about moving on, or better still admitting he's a wrong un rather than trying to delect the flack on to another side issue? How many times must Liverpool and it's fans try to defend the indefensible, the T shirts issued for the Evra affair were enbarrassing, and this is going the same way. He's probably off to Barca anyway, we'll see if you feel the same way if does bugger off to Spain. Annasfield
Can you point out to where he has been defended by a Liverpool fan on this thread please? We were all told last week how disgusting biting was, etc etc. I just assumed the same comments would apply in what appears to be a far worse situation. Silly me. Silly me.But you've only brought this up BECAUSE of the Suarez incident, you wouldn't have given it a second thought had that NOT happened. Yes it's awful yes it's despicabe, but so is Chewy Suarez. Better? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/44749-the-2014-world-cup-thread/page/27/#findComment-760600 Share on other sites
Jeremy
It didn't happen on the pitch, it has no bearing on the world cup, there's no debate to be had over what punishment is appropriate... that's why people aren't discussing it. Not because anybody thinks its OK. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/44749-the-2014-world-cup-thread/page/27/#findComment-760601 Share on other sites

Otta
I've still never heard od that word outside of rhis thread, but it really doesn't seem necessary today. Antagonistic maybe but not necessary. Jeremy
It's one of Gordon Ramsay's favourite expressions... "you're a chippy little fucker aren't you?", sort of thing. Otta
Good that he's admitted what happened. And nice that he's apologised to the player, especially after Chiellini said the following the other day, which really impressed me.27/06/2014"Now inside me there's no feelings of joy, revenge or anger against Suarez for an incident that happened on the pitch and that's done. There only remain the anger and the disappointment about the match. At the moment my only thought is for Luis and his family, because they will face a very difficult period. I have always considered unequivocal the disciplinary interventions by the competent bodies, but at the same time I believe that the proposed formula is excessive. I sincerely hope that he will be allowed, at least, to stay close to his team mates during the games because such a ban is really alienating for a player." StraferJack
Haha. He has said sorry for something he was involved in. He didn't say "I bit him and for that I'm sorry"We stepped on the pitch... One thing led to another....So that legalese apology. Who is behind it. Legal team? Liverpool? Barcelona? Madrid? StraferJack
I can build a picture from the various messy statements from him and his entourage over the last few days But if I was a gambling man, I would say his next club have ordered an apology as a precondition of joining them Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/44749-the-2014-world-cup-thread/page/27/#findComment-760756 Share on other sites
