I never, ever left my daughter in the car alone. I met someone several years ago whose car was stolen, with a baby asleep in the back, while she had left the locked car for a couple of minutes to pay for petrol. Thankfully the car was abandoned very quickly and the baby was safe, but it takes only seconds for a car to be stolen. Your children are the most important things in your life, so why take even a minute risk with their safety?
I do leave mine only to pay for petrol if I have to - pay at pump is almost always not working for some reason! - but I do almost anything to avoid getting petrol when with them if I can. What I can't work out how to do is lock the car without putting the alarm on - so they have to sit like statues or the alarm goes off when they move!!

I was sniggering at the thought of a carjacker bolting off in fear when seeing three kids pop up in the back seat singing Aqua.

And now I'm sniggering at the thought of telling the kids they have to sit like statues while you leave them even though they don't need to.

This place makes me laugh sometimes.

    • To be fair, a pot of tea for one in a department store is a small pot, and you only get one cup or mug!
    • I know - we have been here lots of times since it first opened,  which is why we were disappointed that it was closed at a time it was supposed to be open, but with no notice to say why! I guess we will just  have to ask the reason at our next visit, but I'm not sure we will risk Saturday lunchtime again unless we find the closure  was an unavoidable one off ....
    • Nope. I don’t have this wrong. I’ve tried to put my point across respectfully, without resorting to personal, angry insults. And all my colleagues agree that the BBC got this right in its condemnation.    All you see is confirmation bias.    If you don’t realise that, then you’re part of the problem.
    • We have always gone during the week at lunch time - great place and good value. Husband has been several times on his own and owner knows his first name. I could not go one time for some reason and she sent him home with some spring rolls (free)
