Hello you lot,

I'm new to the area- discovered the knitting circle already - oh yes! But I'm looking for more! I'm interested in textiles, music, meeting friends, getting involved, craft, cooking- anyone got any good idea of stuff going on I can get involved with or join??

Also has anyone been to the Bargain Pilates at the sports centre? never done it before but thought maybe I should go- any good??

Hi Blinkeyblonck

Nice name!

On music - there's a choir recently started up - have a look in What's on for rehearsals and a contact person. Also in What's on you'll find from time to time OpenMic sessions, folk music organised by Sue, and in the Lounge various threads on where to get tickets for gigs, usually from giggirl.

On craft, there's a little craft shop in the parade of shops on East Dulwich Road - maybe they'll have 'what's on' type posters or ideas for local clubs?

I'm sure there's plenty you can get involved with, hope you are liking ED so far - enjoy discovering your new area!

    • Agree! The instructors are great and classes are non judgemental, I've done classes with ages ranging from 18-70's and sizes 6-20.... not pricey and good fun as well as good excercise

    • Do you mean they are chopping branches from trees in your garden? I would definitely get advice on that eg from the neighbourhood police. I'm not familiar with the law, but that sounds like trespass to me, even if they are not actually standing in your garden. People are entitled to chop off branches etc which are overhanging their own garden, but I am pretty sure they are  not allowed to lean over and chop off anything in yours, whether they dislike it or not.
    • Greg has done several jobs for me over the last year or so. He is quick, efficient, reliable and tidy. Prices are reasonable and he is very easy to deal with - really nice man!
