Has Peckham Farmers Market closed down? (Lounged)

Recommended Posts

The Market on Peckham square still exists, however the London Farmers markets is no longer organising it, as I understand from my counterpart in the council, the traders are still coming on a sunday morning, and there may well now be additional availability for other food related traders.

Hope this inforamtion helps

Actually there is a Peckham Forum, designed to pass comment on the town centre, shopping and all stuff like that, but sadly it isn't being used much at the moment.

Would be interested to see people on here posting in both places

www.ptcmg.co.uk/forum/ If you are interested, but it has been a while since I last checked it

blue sky thinking - if money / time / objections didn't stand in your way, then what would you like to do to improve Peckham and before any bright spark suggests it

no to the following

1. JCB's and Wrecking balls

2. Blown up in an episode of Spooks (although....)

3. A random fire that takes out certain builds (not origional enough thinking)

4. Natural or other disaster

5. Moving it (however it would make an interesting C5 documentry and imagine the size of the lorry required for that one)

    • Well worth a read   https://manchestermill.co.uk/the-men-who-raised-the-flags/
    • If it was limited to a couple of days a year, so we all knew, that would be fine. In the last few years (and it is a recent thing) you get random fireworks going off any time after dusk for half the year. It does more than cause problems for pets and wildlife- it can mean lasting damage and massive expense and hassle for pet owners. All because some get a buzz out of loud bangs.
    • Ohh dear.  Fireworks can be great fun.  Where I used to live the kids would have firework wars/games.  Watching them was more enjoyable than watching  TV. (Which you could hardly hear due to the pops and bangs).  It's not like anyone/anything could stop them. I would still prefer organised public displays that are affordable.   And I agree that fireworks cause problems for wild life, pets and people.   It seems to be one of those things that just happens so we have to put up with it.  But it is still not as problematic here as in other areas in London - that's for sure.
    • I made sure to set off a few today just to rile you guys up 😇😂 Always looking for something to criticise
