Govt funded nursery place after 3

hello

if you have a child in nursery, they get funded hours from the term after they turn 3. i think its 17 hours pwk, term time only.

does anyone know what this equates to in terms of money?

Hi convex,

It's 15 hours, based on term time so 33 weeks a year.

This means that it equates to 15 free hours only in certain settings like school nurseries.

In full time nurseries it tends to mean a reduction in your monthly bill rather than it working out to 15 free hours a week, so for instance our toddler's 2 full days at nursery per week went from costing about ?450 a month to about ?250 a month after the grant kicked in.

Once they turn 3 it's ?4.10 per hour whether at a nursery or childminder.

A mum at my nursery has just had this conversation and it comes to approximate 250 per month. The fees also drop by approx ?100 when they turn 3. X
