I'll be putting up a notice in 'What's On' in a few days but here's a cheeky push for my choir's Christmas Concert at Southwark Cathedral* on 15th December, followed by wine and mince pies. PM me for more details, or watch out for the notice.

*OK, not in ED but not so far away...

St John's, Goose Green, Sunday 21st December - traditional Service of Nine Lessons and Carols at 6pm is your best bet. Otherwise 11pm on Christmas Eve before Midnight Mass.

You might wish to make a note of the Children?s Nativity Pageant on Sunday 21st December at 11.30am and the very popular Children?s Christingle Service at 4pm on Christmas Eve. Midnight Mass begins at 11.30pm. Christmas Morning Family Service at 10am.

Other services at St John's over Christmas will be on the St John's website ? www.stjohnseastdulwich.org

If you want to stretch a little further a field with the whole Christmas Spirit (and I apologise for diverting away from ED) but St. John's, Smith Square has a wide range of concerts over the Christmas period with a good selection of carol concerts with audience participation.

    • Sure - but to describe one councillor's hissy fit as a "fury" unrivalled by hell is a bit of an overstatement. Cllr Barber's attempt to hijack the moment by blaming austerity on Labour instead of the Lib Dem-Tory coalition is an amusing fumble too. It would have been better to keep quiet and enjoy the spectacle of Labour and ex-Labour councillors bickering. Labour is well-known for its ability to sustain internal catfights for years, if not decades!
    • Yes,  but as you said "at last" you had found a good reason not to vote for the greens, I wondered why you would want one. Plus it seemed (to me, at least) a very strange reason and didn't seem to have anything to do with the party's policies.
    • I also had a good experience with Andy, he was quick to respond and came out to resolve the issue at short notice. He was friendly and worked hard to find a solution to the problem with my tap which is now working like new again.
    • No, I clearly quoted you in my response; did you miss that? It’s obviously AI generated: any reasonable human being would be too ashamed to spin such arrant twadle.
