gloss painting needed

Hi

I need help with a load of gloss painting ASAP. Not worried about qualifications, just skill (like my dad!).

Anyone who would like some work and is decent at glossing give me a shout. Suit retired or unemployed with good DIY skills.

Needs a good finish so please don't bother unless you are good at it! Doors, door frames and stairs to be done.

Hi Sue,

I'm retired, have worked as a professional decorator for some time in the past and have worked on my own house to a very high standard for many years.

Sorry, but I can't stand using gloss, or any other petro-chemical paint and why do you think that people are going to come along and work for nothing for you - these are desperate times? Are you seriously disabled, aged, on benefits or in a very desperate financial situation? Anyway, sounds like you live in a bit house - thinking of letting it out when it's all done up?

Cheers, no offense meant.

Are you psychic ? Where does the poster say she wants it done for free? Or lives in a mansion?

My plea to the poster is not to give cash in hand work to those on benefits. You know they won't declare it, meaning they are effectively stealing from the tax payer; and you are giving them a helping hand. Would you be a lookout for a thief breaking into a house?

And yet highly offensive, i*rate - especially the questions regarding the poster's financial position and the 'letting out' insinuation. And I don't see anywhere in Sue's post that she wouldn't be paying for the job! In fact, quite the contrary - as she says it's for 'anyone who would like some work...' That usually means paid work.

Crustyrack and buddug,

My sincerest apologies to Sue_Fidler if my remarks were offensive in any way. I did get hold of the wrong end of the stick maybe, but did'nt see any mention of money or rates.

I do hope someone needy and willing to work hard takes the job on - cash-in-hand, whatever.

Cheers.

    • I’m basing it on the fact that Jeremy Corbyn had repeatedly and on record said he is against mandatory vaccinations in any situation, and he wouldn’t disclose wether he had the Covid vaccine himself    as I said. Not as bad as his brother but very definitely a bit weird about the whole thing. Just say you had the vaccination Jeremy, say that everyone should and stop being weird in the middle of a global pandemic    it’s the same slippery evasive nonsense about Brexit and him. About Putin poisonings and him.     if you are happy with his evasiveness then you do you.  But there is a reason the country wouldn’t get behind him
    • It was my understanding that Jeremy Corbyn was embarrassed by his brother and had distanced himself from his brother's views. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Why on earth should "the overall view of that family inform Jeremy's response to the pandemic"? What exactly are you basing that assumption on?
    • I guess it's best to do what most Brits do these days, keep your head down and say nothing! although that's probably why this country is in the mess it is today!  😞
