Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

The Sunday FitFun Bootcamp IS ON in Peckham Rye.

Come and join us for an awesome workout and a whole lot of fun. We meet just by the Rye Cafe, at the parking. Starts at 10am sharp and finishes 11.20am. The bootcamp is for EVERYONE and ANYONE. Whatever your fitness level, age or gender may be. From beginner to advanced, we have two different groups so everyone can get the most out of the session.

We also have a boxing bootcamp on Wednesday evenings (6.45pm to 8pm).

1st session is FREE of charge.

For more information check www.fitfunactive.co.uk

Tomorrow we'll be utilising ViPR's during the interval segment of the workout. If you've never seen, heard or had a go before take a look...

The ViPR ? stands for Vitality, Performance and Reconditioning. It can be carried, dragged, thrown, flipped, stepped on and rolled. Tomorrow we'll be using them as a whole body workout. It's very effective and great fun.

Please feel encouraged to join us.

This Sunday we'll be making use of kettle bells during our outdoor training session.

Kettlebell training targets every aspect of fitness ? Explosive and Dynamic Strength, Stamina, Balance and Agility. The idea is to hold the kettle bell in one or both hands and go through a variety of swings, presses or pulling motions. Some movements have you changing the weight from hand to hand as the weight swings up or as you move laterally, requiring you to stabilize the body and engage the core in a whole new way. Other moves require power from the legs and hips to move the weight, giving you integrated whole body movements that are often missing with other types of training.

Please if unfamiliar or just interested have a look

The Benefits of Kettlebell Training

?Improved coordination and agility

?Better posture and alignment ? Many exercises work the postural muscles in a functional way

?It?s time efficient ? You train multiple fitness components in the same session including cardio, strength, balance, stability, power and endurance

?The exercises are functional and weight bearing which helps increase bone density and keep the body strong for daily tasks

?You become more efficient at other types of exercise

?Increased power development and endurance, which is great for a variety of sports

?Low risk of injury when you use good form and the right weights

?Simplicity ? the exercises are simple, the workouts are straightforward and you only need one piece of equipment

I just wanted to let everyone thinking of joining Fitfun how great the sessions are. I was years out of practice on the fitness side of things but have found every session enjoyable and manageable. Darren and Maria are fabulous, making you not only feel really welcome, but encouraging you and helping you push yourself a little further, leaving you with a real sense of achievement. Its a reassuring mix of people from the beginners to the hard core but I've never once felt embarrassed of what Im capable of. Each week is different so it doesn't repetitive or that your getting bored of the exercise. I'd throughly recommend you try it out!

    • What ever they decide I would have thought that the skate park would not be staying but really hope I am wrong as in my minds eye, I see the skate park as potential parking spaces after all if it is going to be community, flats, retail units, cafe, etc folks are going to want to have the parking availability - Amir like the parade of shops opposite. if the skate park goes then I think it is Dulwich Estate obligation to find another suitable area… a lot of community spirit and hard work went into developing the skate park and the youngsters should be very proud of what they have done  and achieved.
    • Hi all My car was stolen between 1.30pm-1.50pm today in SE22 East Dulwich in South East London. I have of course reported this to the police but not much is being done, so I thought I'd give this a shot. The registration is GM66YOV, though its possible the licence plate may have been changed by now. If you see it anywhere please contact me or the police. Thankyou!
