we have f&b "strong white" in lots of pur house - it's a v v light grey, sandier in the southfacing areas and cooler blue-grey in the darker areas. Also like "cornforth" which we have in one bedroom; it's a bit darker/more obviously grey but still v light, and warm.

There are some great mumsnet threads on this. We went for F&B greys - but often chose a blue-ish tint. Colour matched at Whites in HOP, great place.

We have:

Borrowed Light - v pale blue grey, gorgeous

Skylight - blue/grey, not as pretty as BL

Strong white - beige grey, which we mixed in a bathroom with...

Skimming stone - slightly darker beige grey

Blackened - v pale purpley-grey - have this on its own and teamed with blackened.

Calluna - pink/purple grey

We thought about using Cornforth White which is similar ish to blackened and also liked Elephants Breath (darker beige grey than Skimming Stone) but was too dark for our hallway.

We also have Railings in our kitchen which is v dark, almost black/navy grey dependent on the light, love it!

Highly recommend searching Houzz app for these paint colour names to get ideas.

We have Fired Earth - Skylon Grey in our living room which is a true mid grey. I love F&B Skylight but would say is more blue.

Also have Little Greene Gauze (Mid) in our hall which is a light grey and lovely. Would second the recommendation for Whites! Colour matching and they stock Little Greene.

Loving this thread but wish I'd actually started it 8 months ago. We really struggled with getting the right shade for a kitchen/dining room open plan area that had v different light in both (skylights and lots of windows plus large doors) and every grey we tried looked v different in each area. I'd recommend swatching large areas then looking at it at different times of day. We erred on a lighter shade and now want to re-paint. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread

    • Just for information: I see that the Licensing Sub-committee has the Tesco application as item 1 on their 24 July meeting agenda.  https://moderngov.southwark.gov.uk/ieListDocuments.aspx?CId=172&MId=8329. The officer's report to the committtee provides a good succinct summary.  I see, from (original) p.31 of the full public pack, (or more conveniently the supporting documents) that Tesco Legal Dept on 12 June reported that they'd agreed with the police's suggested conditions to be attached to the licence, and the police accordingly withdrew their own representation.  That leaves just one representation, from a member of the public, to be dealt with on the day. I still think it's not necessarily to be presumed that Tesco will definitely be taking over the premises.  I see that Poundland themselves were granted an off-sales licence on 21 Feb 2023, and surrendered it on 3 July 2025.  I'm not sure they actually ever used it themselves.  Did they? https://www.southwark.gov.uk/sites/default/files/2024-09/Statement of Licensing Policy 2021-2026.pdf is a full statement of the policy and its application, for thems as is interested.

    • I'd get rid of duty free shopping.  Nothing to do with tourist tax but something I hate.  All that glitz as you try to get through to Wetherspoons in the departure lounge.  No great savings over on line or even at times supermarkets, and the hypocrisy of selling cheap cancer sticks. Ok back to tourist tax
