Dopamine1979
No but it was very, very frightening. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/46948-east-dulwich-thunder/#findComment-765867 Share on other sites
El Pibe
I always thought that line was a bit tautological, a thunderbolt being thunder and lightning and all.I'll get my (rain)coat... *Bob*
True, should have been thunderclap. You messed up there, Freddie. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/46948-east-dulwich-thunder/#findComment-765881 Share on other sites
El Pibe
scans better though doesn't it, or is that just familiarity with the line Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/46948-east-dulwich-thunder/#findComment-765884 Share on other sites
*Bob*
Both scan fine, I think. Thunderbolt has a more onomatopoeic sound to it, especially with the pounding toms. However, should Fred have gone with clap, this could easily have been addressed with a nod from another complimentary percussive element. Lynne
My grandmother used to open the door during thunderstorms so if a lightening ball came down the chimney, it could go out of the door wihout causing damage. I wouldn't go as far as saying that anyone believed her, but we sort of hoped it might happen. And did it? No. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/46948-east-dulwich-thunder/#findComment-765943 Share on other sites
