Woo hoo indeed! Just couldn't believe this the first time we went, and will be taking a Saturday off work to go to this year's festival. Two stages (indoors and out) brilliant live music and a great venue (wonderful view over London) - right on our doorstep! Music highlights were many but would name check Steve Boltz and Country Dirt.

I'm not connected to the Aquarius, but just want to spread the word.

Our wonderful sponsors Bushells of lordship Lane will be putting up their promotional boards all around the area today. Thankyou so much to Bushells for their kind support, and all of the lovely folk that help us to spread the word about SE London's biggest little music festival! Full line up and poster coming soon!!

Just back on the set list - Country Dirt, featuring a new vocalist. They will be slamming the indoor stage at the end of the day, around 7.00pm.

Still working on the final running orders. Be patient with me.

A taste of last year's frivolities. It looks sparsely populated, but we had over 1000 visitors last year.

This years line up is even better!!! With a few regulars too. Keep your eyes peeled for posters/the facebook event page. All going live this weekend.

Best little festival ever have the sign up Brian and will be bringing a group of friends to enjoy the great day. Fingers crossed it will be as good as weather as last year and don't forget to bring a woolie for when night falls.
Southwark Events team have asked if there is a website, I've linked the FB page and put your brief about it up but if there is a webpage would be handy. contact [email protected] or give me a shout and I'll pass it on for you

Brian have posted it over on Urban 75 the Brixton based forum and the ed has kindly suggested to add it to the Brixton Buzz events listing. I'll leave it to you to add if you want.

Miller Andersen - who brilliantly finishes off the festival in the bar is one of the best guitarists I have ever heard and a brilliant singer as well. His performance of Pictured Within by Jon Lord at the Royal Albert Hall is a masterpiece.

Also appearing, local emerging talent Jack Joseph, solo performances on the indoor stage.

Really pleased to have uncovered this young man, who was supporting Miller Anderson at last weekend's Ivy House gig.

Hot news!!! Jessica Radcliffe will be opening the day's performances on the indoor stage, with a set of beautiful, cool jazz, accompanied by some of SE London's finest young musicians. If you like Diana Krall, you'll just love her vocal.

Class!!!

The final piece of the puzzle. Closing the indoor stage ahead of a bar room blitz by Miller Anderson & the Prisonaires, here's your Jazz Funk mystery band - the amazing Changing Motion. An acclaimed line up of this guitar/keyboard focussed group, these guys have a CV that reads like a history of modern British music, with credits like The Commitments, Heatwave, the Three Degrees, the Drifters, Billy Paul etc. etc.

Jazz with a huge slice of funk.

What a way to end the day, onstge indoors from around 7.00.

    • Missing Cat! 11 months old/ Our friend, Coco, has gone missing. Last seen evening of 31st October near top of Henslowe rd where it meets Underhill Rd in SE22. We know she has started wandering up Friern Rd and further we guess but we imagine she has been spooked by Halloween / Fireworks goings on. She is a grey Siberian mix with some brown stripes down her, very friendly and likes to eat. Please let us know
    • That said, organised displays could be on Saturday before and after and the actual day, and private ones could just not have the loud ones.  It’s all down to accessibility and people caring/not caring
    • The problem this year is that 5th November falls on a Wednesday. So some places will be bringing their "bonfire night" forward to Saturday 1st and some will be knocking it back to Saturday 8th and there'll probably be a few that just go with Wednesday 5th anyway. If you're doing a public display, having it on a weekend gets more crowds. Which basically means a solid week of fireworks.
    • Fireworks in this area do feel totally incessant at this time of year, almost every evening there is terrible noise. I feel great concern for wildlife, pets (I have a senior cat who hates them), as well as people who struggle with PTSD etc. Last year I even had people setting them off in front of my home. Tonight and yesterday evening have been particularly bad. Is there anything we can do as a community to prevent this? What action can we take? Surely we shouldn’t be expected to just put up with it every year for weeks on end!
