How do I meet single girls in ED?

..it seems everybody has family very early here..

everywhere i go and every woman i meet seems to have family already..

I m 40 single never married no kids professional; young at heart recently moved to ED would like to meet someone single

...PS The "Meet new friends in ed" it s not an option as i always work on sat and they do only sat (which make me wonder if those meeting are about meeting people or getting wasted and have time to recover on sunday..)

..ok let s keep talking about Ash kebabs, football focus, the song remain the same and much more I see you very much into!

I think singles..doesn t matter if men or women ...need to be banned from ED..

Not Only I agree on the this one wit TheArtfullDogger who wants them/us/me (as i believe i am the only one now) banned: I think we should burn them alive at the goose green!!!...a few every sunday morning before church!

I was told not to talk about singles here...

You could initiate your own get togethers in addition. From what I see on that thread that it's all quite open to suggestion for when who/where/when. Am I mistaken?

i still don t see your point..nobody is complaining here about being single..

..if i am single in my 40 there must be a reason is it?

I was just saying that good part of the population here in ED seems to have family very early and there are no many singles around..or at least it seems that way..

If you meet lots of new and single people in here ...well..you might introduce me to them:)

Having danced Salsa for about 8 years, let me tell you about it. It's not the sort of thing where guys go to pick up women. People go to dance and have a good time dancing. It's more like an old fashioned tea dance and the guys that just go there 'hunting' soon gain a reputation and nobody dances with them. They normally end up fading into obscurity.

Good luck with that Pato.

I've got a few suggestions for how you might meet other single people - if you're also talking friends, I'm assuming you're happy to meet single men and women as well as girls.

But most groups of people that actually stay in touch have something else in common other than just marital status, age or location. So, pato, what things do you enjoy doing? What makes you tick?

I know more couples who met through work or via work colleagues than in local bars or restaurants these days - so any clubs or groups there that you could join in on?

    • I’m not a Gail’s fan but there’s no reason a business shouldn’t open on Christmas Day. However, nobody should be compelled to work the day which, given the widespread coverage of Gail’s questionable employment practices, has to be a possibility here.  The only business I ever use on the 25th is maybe a pub and that’s a rarity these days but buses running would be very welcome for visiting etc. But the swings in the park should definitely remain chained up. Are parks even open on Christmas Day?
    • To be honest, pal, it's not good being a fan of a local business and then not go there. One on hand, the barber shop literally next door to Romeo Jones started serving coffee. The Crown and Greyhound and Rocca serve coffee. Redemption Coffee opened up not far away, and then also Megan's next door to that. DVillage was serving coffee (but wasn't very popular), as was Au Ciel (which is). Maybe also Heritage Cheese, I don't know. There's also Flotsam and Jetsam doing coffee and sandwiches at Dulwich Picture Gallery in the other direction. The whole of Dulwich Village serves coffee. And yet on the other hand, there are enough punters to support all good coffee shops. With the exception of Rocca and Megan's (which are both big spaces) and C&G (which does coffee like everything else - slow and with bad service), all these places regularly get queues out the door. Gail's often has big queues and yet very few people crossed the street to Romeo Jones (which was much better)... Half the staff at Gail's are perfectly fine and efficient. The other half are pretty offhand and rude. It's certainly not welcoming or friendly service. But they're certainly hard working, and no doubt raking the money in for Luke Johnson...
    • Well according to a newspaper article, Gail’s is opening 10 shops in London,,, yup Dulwich is named 10/5 I seem to recall with others in London opening at 7 am…!, Guess that is to capture workers coming off all night shift. Offering free mince pies until they run out.. So very sad to hear about Romeo Jones… been a customer since the opening, any idea where Patrick has gone or details… please pm me.    What is going to be in its place…. Will be around in Jan…umm village is changing….
    • interesting the police said "the car was in demand at the moment" what make/model is that?
