Where to Volunteer in the East Dulwich area?

I did a bit of voluntary work over christmas and would like to carry on in 2009 but with something more local.. does anyone know of any community youth projects / homeless day centres etc. that are in the ED, Peckham Rye, Camberwell area?

My first suggestion would be to ask at the main desk (or google them) at Kings College Hospital.

They must have lots of links.

There's also Dulwich Helpline that I believe works mainly with the elderly...There should be a link on the forum as someone else asked the same question on another link.

Thames Reach are a homeless charity that have a large office in Camberwell. There is also St Giles in Camberwell.

Why not contact Southwark Volunteer Centre - they put people wanting to volunteer with people needing volunteers

The Albrighton Centre is located on the Dog Kennel Hill Estate - it's set back on a road opposite Sainsbury's Car Park. They run lots of activities for children, young people and adults in the area.

Kids Company have a base in Camberwell (www.kidsco.org.uk) who take volunteers. Also you could contact Southwark Youth Service and ask if they are taking on volunteers.

You could try Home-Start Southwark.A children's charity based in Camberwell who recruit and train volunteers to support families with young children who are under stress. They cover the whole of southwark and could match you with a family in this area. Their number is 0207 358 6698
