EKSM
Hello all,Following some discussion on here http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?29,1361807,1382486#msg-1382486 regarding family visits to Dulwich Picture Gallery we have planned an open forum and we would like to invite you all to share your ideas with us here at the Gallery. The open forum will be held from 1.15pm to 2.15pm on Tuesday 9th September in the Gallery?s Linbury Room. So come and enjoy some refreshments and talk to us about your experiences as a visitor to the Gallery and how we might improve your experience. As a visitor to the open day we will offer you free entry to the Permanent Collection after the forum. You may also be interested in our family event prior to the forum, ?Mini-Masterpieces?, running from 10.30am to 11.30am. Children aged six to eighteen months are encouraged to take part in interactive art sessions, followed by a child-friendly gallery visit. SebsC
StraferJack Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> Fair play.Have to say, that's exactly what I thought when I read this post. There's nothing worse than when a business responds to criticism with venom or disdain or threats. The dulwich picture gallery have listened to the criticisms and regardless of whether they are warranted or not, have decided to give an appropriate time and place to hear everyone's views. Hopefully those people who posted about their negative experiences will see this post and attend. Also, hopefully other business' can learn from the DPG's response. MrsSW
Yes - fantastic response! Also, we've been living here for 3 years now and going to the gallery every now and then since my youngest was just 2 (eldest 3) and they have always been very friendly and welcoming to our children. Obviously just my experience! JGogarty
Great response DPG. I have to say I've been to the gallery numerous times with my young son (who can be a bit of a handful) and the staff have always been lovely. However I have seen some people get quite irked when asked to keep their little ones from touching the art! This attitude I can never understand.
