I'm with AnotherPaul. I think it's a local public information issue and I think Foxtons should comment. If it's legal and just an admin issue then fine but I'm sure they are not intending to have kids info on their database and should at least apologise.

I'm with (both) KKs too.

Are all local businesses supposed to check the Lounge section of the forum on the off-chance that there is an 'open letter' of complaint to them and subsequently reply? Such matters should and could be dealt with in person in the first instance, by all means inform people about what they have done but don't expect it to be resolved in the Lounge.

I wouldn't call people disagreeing with your thread bullies either.

I've always thought of an "open letter" as a tool to make public aware of something, which is what I assumed this was.

I didn't assume the OP was particularly expecting foxtons to respond on here, but more that he wanted others to look out for this happening so that they too would contact foxtons about it.

I actually got letter from Foxtons addressed to my dog Winston.

I kid you not...It was years ago and the only thing I can think is that they may have paid for customer details from either insurance companies (Pet insurance)

Or the vet.

It made me laugh, I didn't bother complaining.

I've made my points already, and quite clearly, so personally I don't need to add anything.

If someone has a view which is different, that's great. But there will be differences of opinion.

Everything I say on any thread I would happily say to someone's 'face'.

If anyone wants to start making age comparisons or other insults, well that's up to you. Good luck.

Involving children IMO is sick.

    • If you like very good quality South Asian food then Babur in Brockley is offering a well priced, for what it is, Christmas day menu with sensitively priced reductions for a more limited children's menu. They also have a compelling wine list and their specialist cocktails are phenomenal. Not traditional Christmas fare, but then that might be an additional recommendation.

    • Dear families,   My name is Eleanor. I’ve worked in NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services for the past eight years, and I’m about to begin an Infant Observation course in preparation for psychotherapy training. I’m looking for a baby to observe as part of this training.   The observation involves me visiting a baby and their parent for one hour a week over two years, with the aim of deepening my understanding of early emotional and developmental processes. Taking part is a generous contribution to the training of future child psychotherapists — ultimately supporting the mental health of children and families.   Both of my own children were observed as babies, which I found to be a really positive experience. Having an observer gently witness my babies’ development helped me notice their weekly changes in a new way, and I came to appreciate the calm, consistent presence of a trained observer. I was sad when the observations ended!   If you — or someone you know — is expecting a baby due before the end of February*, I would love to hear from you. You can contact me at +44 7977 910018 or [email protected].   Best wishes, Eleanor
