Hello, I just wondered if anyone has sent their child to Dulwich Montessori on College Road and how they've found it? The outdoor area is quite small, does that matter? We have recently moved to East Dulwich and found it hard to find somewhere that has spaces. We don't want full day care, just a few hours for my son to play and make some friends (he's 2). Another potential option is Blossom's Montessori, which is 9am-4pm. Any feedback on either or both would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

My daughter (3yo) is at Blossoms and she is very happy there. It is a proper Montessori nursery, calm and a huge variety of activities with really enthusiastic staff. You will need to consider your 'bridging' childcare options as it is 9-4 and also closed for school holidays (so it is term time only). When both parents are working it could be a challenge to cover after 4pm (if needed) and holiday childcare. Happy to talk privately about blossoms if you want to - just pm me.
Ah, both my kids went to Blossoms and absolutely loved it. Really great little nursery - hope your son enjoys it. Don't worry about the small outside space by the way - they do regular trips to Peckham Rye for a run-around (well, they did back in my kids' day anyway).

    • Because of the weather which delayed completion with roofer only being able to work certain days, it was up from November - end of January. Went slightly higher than gutters (we also had guttering replaced).
    • It's tough being a courier and the pay which is largely based on the number they deliver is miserable. Hence the staff turnover is high. EFRI was previously branded as HERMES but they had to create a new brand name because of poor performance. We get regular courier deliveries and EVRI are by far the worst. They just drop the parcel at the front door - often without ringing the bell. But worst is when they deliver to the equivalent door number on LL instead of ours on EDG. Best are ParcelForce, DHL and DPD by a wide margin.
    • I know the couple you mean, and she has always been friendly and smiley when delivering to me, but obviously in a hurry, for all the reasons outlined in the thread. My gate is always open, however (unless someone coming to the house closes it when they leave). I can't see the point of gates that have to be opened and shut again every time someone comes to the house. It just seems a waste of time, and it's annoying if you are carrying stuff. And a closed gate  conveys a sort of "my house is my fortress" feel. To me, anyway.
    • Thanks for posting this. Really interesting. It would be good if you added a star rating, so that it was easier to do comparisons / see what your top recommendations are. Great blog though!
