Hi Angus, can you let us know your opening hours? Google says you're closed Sun-Tues? Sunday seems like a bad day to be closed!

Hi Budleigh, yes our opening ours are Sunday - Tuesday by appointment, Wednesday - Friday 11.30 - 17.30 and Saturday 10 - 5.30. Unfortunately Google Business doesn't offer an option of 'by appointment' and only gives an option of open or closed.

I appreciate some people would like to visit the shop on a Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and as I live locally am happy to open when requested, please call 020 8425 0821 (diverts to my mobile). These opening hours may increase as we become more established and there is sufficient demand.

Pretty sure I saw a Papa John's being installed at Queens Road Peckham when going past on the bus yesterday. Taking over the old cafe which was fish and chips shop before that.

There was rumours that Swadesh was to become a Tapas Bar.

Well the Swadesh sign has been removed only to reveal a Tapas Restaurant sign.

NOT a new sign, but and old one. I don't remember the place having once been a Tapas Place.

Suppose it must of been ?

How long ago would that of been. ??

There was a tapas restaurant along that stretch of LL, years ago. Can't be 100% sure if it was the Swadesh site... but it might be. Closed down around 2004-2005, I would guess.

Spoke to the Homemade Kitchen guy this week (Northcross Road)- have been trying unsuccessfully to have a waffle there for some time. He's having complaints from a neighbour about the smell/hot food. which seems bonkers as it's next door to the day and night operating Bonne Bouffe which I would imagine would be much worse in terms of noise/smell etc?

He seemed a really nice guy and I hope they can sort it out as I love waffles and pancakes and the types of things they were proposing to sell. They are doing drinks for now.

Any one know anything more?

They were doing pancakes before at Homemade Kitchen, they were good. Have they stopped doing those then?

Has anyone heard anything about this new restaurant in Peckham called Aside? Apparently it is down Queens Road end and meant to be amazing - opened last weekend!

Let me know if there is any feedback as want to book for this weekend!

Please note the kitchen closes from 15.00?18.00 every day.

Fox... most restaurants shut between lunch and dinner (apart from pubs and chain type places). Try finding somewhere decent for an early dinner at 5pm, it's not easy.

Anyway, I think it looks very nice and will hopefully be able to give it a go at some point.
