We got a femtocell to improve mobile reception at home - runs over wifi and works brilliantly. T-Mobile (and I think other companies) sell them as an add on (you have to have the right femtocell for your mobile network) but if you make enough of a fuss about your reception you may get one on a complimentary basis.

The other thing is have you thought about upgrading to 4G. I recently did and have been astonished about how much better mobile reception is. All the 3G blackspots near us have good 4G coverage. It's almost as if they run the 3G network down in places to force you to upgrade to 4G *conspiracy face*. Appreciate it's not ideal to upgrade on the chance that it might improve things, but it did seem to work really well in my case.

Edited because I can't spell conspiracy...

I've never actually heard of these. They sound brilliant but at the same time I feel, why should I have to buy an add-on because they are unable to provide me with any kind of decent coverage! Mind you, I know that's idealistic.. I'll look into it, thanks again.
EE reception has got much worse over the last few years due to their crappy version of 4G and mast consolidation post T Mobile merger. I'm near you and tried out sims for 3, O2 and Vodafone. And Vodafone won hands down. It has been life changing....no more standing outside on a box to call a mate.

    • Don't know why but it seems like there have been impromptu fireworks since early September. At one point I even wondered if there was a shooting range or something like that over Dulwich Hamlet way- the direction where the firework sounds seem to be coming from? Is there some kind of new, fireworks craze going on and where are people getting them, out of season?
    • Hello, I have your cat!!! I can't find a contact number but mine is 07845 277923.
    • Hi everyone, thanks so much for taking the time to come back on my thread - hearing all your responses has been very helpful.    I’ve tried some of the suggestions you shared about how to improve the connection but they don’t seem to make too much difference so I think we are probably in a dead spot unfortunately. I’ll keep trying though and hopefully it will get a bit better.    Coincidently, I found out yesterday that BT fibre broadband is coming to East Dulwich soon which should much improve the WiFi signal available in the area so I’m planning to switch to that as soon as it arrives. Fingers crossed! If you’re interested to hear how it is, feel free to message me and I can let you know.    Thanks again for all your help!
    • If you want to self cater and do it yourself, why not try one of the rooms in a church..  one I am thinking about has a huge room with kitchen and toilets… parking on site.. and another one worth considering is the church near Dulwich Library , top of Barry Road..  pm if you want more info and of course.. all the pubs on Lordship Lane. if you want further afield, Rosendale Pub has rooms above bar area that you can also hire…  Alleyns Head also good - section off a section of the pub for  your sole use and parking on site.. although, might not work if try want to dance and play there own music. Kingwood House might also be worth considering…
