  1. there's a whole lot of crap, as usual. good luck to you, lav27.
  2. waking up in your own vomit is a sign of an alcohol problem. and if there is a problem, you won't be happy or even able to do the following. for one week, have 4 days with no alcohol, and only drink half bottle of wine on the other 3. no doubt you're a party animal and don't have a problem. but you may think differently in 10 or 20 years when you're facing breast cancer. happy friday night.
  3. Is anyone in the area who knows why the helicopter is out?
  4. Another high recommendation for this company. They do fast and professional work, and if they need to fix something they've installed, they take such pride in their work, they come out quickly with no extra charge. Proper service. And they're all very nice.Thank you, Callow.
  5. Sharing the discovery of a new gallery in Camberwell, a one mile walk from Peckham Rye train station. Unpretentious and fun. Entry is by appointment, only because the gallery is also Lily's home. A great vibe, Lily is delightful. https://www.lily-brooke.com/
  6. Like not answering the phone if the caller's number isn't known, I never open the door before asking 'who is it'? If I'm not interested, a simple 'no thank you' sends them away.
  7. Thank you to the early-riser ladies making great coffee and fresh juices outside of East Dulwich train station at very good prices. All that and a cheerful disposition so early - good for you and thank you from this grateful customer.
  8. Helping a friend find a lost gold earring. It perhaps could be found at Frank's bar or on Rye Lane or on Peckham Road. Thanks for reading.
  9. Congratulations to Pearspring for improving the Lordship Lane community.
  10. Me, too. What a delightful shop and space. Expert staff and reasonably priced plants and pots. Love the art gallery at the back. Some people seemed to defend the previous state of this space, but in my view, I prefer this. Congratulations, Pearspring.
  11. Prompted by this post, I started looking when out running. There's a huge wall at 16 Playfield Crescent.
  12. I've joked that I'm voting for George Clooney. Seems like best option at the moment.
  13. Pete Bennison for both gas and plumbing - totally reliable and reasonable.
  14. I recently diligently (and stupidly) bought advanced train tickets from Southern rail from East Dulwich to Gatwick Airport at a cost of ?11.90 each way. I wasted my money as if I'd tapped in using my credit card, the cost would have been only ?6.60. Can anyone explain the sense of this price difference?
  15. I support Woodstock. I love other people's dogs, but I hate and resent having to clear up their dog crap left on the pavement outside the house. Toosmart1973 - put your phone number on this thread so I can call you up to do the crap clearing.
  16. I don't disagree with everyone's sentiments, however, I'm not convinced WR is misrepresenting its meat based on the experience of the first post (Be blessed). It seems unlikely WR expects to get away with lying about the origin of the meat when it's in its original packaging and clearly labelled. Perhaps the counter person was misinformed/mistaken/a bit lax? I've been convinced by the integrity, quality and prices of WR over many years. But I'm definitely out of there if I've got this wrong. It will be a major let down if East Dulwich can't rely on them.
  17. Stay strong cazzyr. Upon first reading, my immediate thought was that assault was a gang initiation.
  18. Identity theft may not be the intention, but worth knowing about. http://www.securitynewsdesk.com/demand-for-locking-wheelie-bins-rises-as-identity-theft-runs-rampant/
  19. Yep. Unsure if that's allowed, but the guards didn't seem too worried.
  20. Watch your heels inside London Bridge station as Uber Eats cyclists (rivals to Deliveroo) zip around at rush hour. They're up for a war of words, so do politely tell them off if you want to see a stellar example of obnoxiousness.
  21. Since the Brexit vote, we've made an extra effort to support the local immigrants who've contributed to ED's greatness. And Boulangerie Jade's cakes and breads are great.
  22. From 1 Sept, the TV Licence rules will change - expanded to include watching BBC iPlayer. Watching other catch-up (ie ITV) is not affecting and still will not need the licence. https://www.theguardian.com/media/2016/aug/01/bbc-iplayer-tv-licence-iplayer-loophole
