  1. Bread Street Kitchen near St Paul's. Duck and waffle (360 degree views of London) closer to Liverpool street station. Both outstanding and not a far walk. The George and vulture for a Charles dickens adventure - but check it's still open. Have fun.
  2. Orford - why not start your own thread to promote your business? E-dealer - enough, already.
  3. Great news and the very best of luck. I will seek you out to sort my car out. What are your prices?
  4. I do and don't agree with you all. People getting off their cushions and being entrepreneurial is outstanding and to be supported. However, there are rules and licensing for a reason. I'm sure this van is just trying to make an honest crust, but it may also be a clever cover for doing more unsavoury business deals. It?s not completely unknown for cars on Lytcott and surrounding streets to be visited by police sniffer dogs - and no one wants that outside their front door.
  5. Yesterday I picked up a bottle of vat red, just to check it out. And first impression is that they're on top of their game - these guys know about proper customer service - the type you only see at Claridge's, Bread Street Kitchen, Duck & Waffle - 100% attentive and friendly but not overdone. And the wine? It definitely benefits from a half hour airing, but it was perfectly acceptable and improved by the mouthful (cherries, blackcurrants, etc.) At ?4.70, I'll be back for more. Well done, ToastED . You done good.
  6. You got me grinning like a damn fool.
  7. Visiting Luca's was a factor in deciding to move to East Dulwich as the service and cinnamon buns were so good. That was back in 2008/9. But no more. Too many instances of poor service and stale buns-Homemade has taken our business. Plus, I never like to see the cakes out on display in reaching distance of kiddies inquisitive hands or adults surprise sneezes. Ew.
  8. Since 2009 we've been regulars at thai corner house, but have eased off in the past year as we thought the food was slipping a bit. I think it was since they introduced the two sittings. Any recommendations for going again?
  9. Never again. Good heavens. ?10 is too much for the basic manicure. I left with a full set of cuticles covered in polish. No care or attention given. Plus entertainingly rude - them, not me. Going to test out the Peckham Rye lane salons.
  10. Gosh, I wish I could agree. I've been 4 times over a few years and it's generally very poor. And I've now finally realised that it's not worth it. I get a normal manicure at only ?10. How could you go wrong? The quality is so poor it maybe is worth ?7.50 or less. Other than a good nail shape, I was left with lots of remaining cuticle that would normally be removed, and polish was slopped and not cleaned off on two fingers. They must have been trained, but give the impression of not caring a fig. To top it off, other than the owner, they staff are hilariously rude. I wouldn't mind if they delivered the goods, but they really don't. Save up and go for quality.
  11. Terroir. Different from Terroirs, but connected, and ED has its own sense of place.
