  1. Go, Cherry Trees! The two of you handing out advertising at the train station oozed competence. See you soon.
  2. Hear, hear https://www.facebook.com/pages/Platform1/690946894382939?fref=ts
  3. An article on fighting unfair parking tickets - I learned a couple of things: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/private-parking-tickets?utm_source=MSE_Newsletter&utm_medium=hiya&utm_term=12-Aug-15-v4&utm_campaign=reclaim&utm_content=35
  4. I notice on Smoke and Salt's website (the current chef residents of Pussey Liquor) that even they can't bring themselves to fully promote the P word. They state their summer residency is a P Liquor. Why would this be? http://www.smokeandsalt.com/summer-residency.html
  5. This evening I saw Made in Chelsea's glamorous Victoria Baker Harber walking down the Lane. She looked like a nice young woman. And I certainly don't know, but I did wonder if she was going to PL's opening. I tend to agree with the sentiments given about the name - somehow it doesn't fit with my impression of ED being a considerate community. I certainly don't want to hear children asking what PL means. I don't think ED is prude, just a bit cleverer.
  6. Daisy Lets are honest, ethical, professional, friendly and trustworthy. And as I'm here, Haart Camberwell are none of those things and are, in my opinion, greedy liars.
  7. colin is superman. p&o are a trustworthy, honest company, providing true value and a complete job. they've had my housekeys for weeks and kept them safe, as well as ridding the house of beasties,
  8. another recommendation for pete bennison.
  9. Saw a tweet about a new bar on Lordship Lane called Pussey Liquor. Does anyone know anything more?
  10. Gotta love Glam Nails. I telephoned for last minute appointment and despite being very busy, they were happy to let me in. I walked in with the shortest nails possible and cuticles in a shocking state - and pranced out with a wedding-worthy manicure. Bravo and thank you. (And for ?14 - double bravo.)
  11. I never sit at the station anymore for fear rats will scurry around my feet. It seems some foliage has been cleared, perhaps in the interest of removing cover for rats.
  12. Our huge and heavy plant pot containing weeds (meant for a tree) was stolen from the front. To move this pot would have need two strong people and transport. So, this feels organised.
  13. More praise and thanks. I called Rick for an evening emergency - water dripping from the ceiling. Not only did he answer the phone, he promptly visited and fixed the leak. I appreciated his honest and energetic approach - I'd have been none-the-wiser if he'd said I needed a huge expensive fix. Since, Rick has completed a couple of things to a high standard, minimal fuss, promptly and quickly. Plus he's a nice guy.
  14. Nina Christie is a jewelry craftswoman and will make repairs http://www.allinlondon.co.uk/directory/1202/116054.php Davies and Vaughan on Northcross also may be able to help. http://www.daviesandvaughan.co.uk/
  15. ESPH open promptly at 6:30am and offer personal trainers. http://www.esph.co.uk/personal-trainer
  16. East Dulwich has it all. http://www.mindovermatterboxing.co.uk/ http://www.clintonmckenzie.com/
  17. I'm a recent convert and totally agree with you all. Stephen is a true talent and I'm looking forward to my next appointment.
  18. Shame on me for having a genuine interest in my neighbourhood? And a little bit of maths may indicate I've lived here for over 5 years. Hurrah, I'm now entitled to an opinion.
  19. 'ms blueberry' has lived here for years, but irrelevant.
  20. Does anyone remember what the business was before it was closed? It would be a nice and positive tribute to know how the owner contributed to East Dulwich, what her business offered, how long was she here, etc.
  21. It would be wrong to assume anyone is penniless in this situation. It may also be wrong to assume the owner is aware of the state of the shop. I am giving the owner the benefit of the doubt and will assume that if she saw the place now, she would be mortified. Greed of others is behind the decay, and decay spreads easily. We are all responsible for the community we live in. Good community fights the rot.
  22. I've privately been made aware of the situation and it's not as innocent as a nice little old lady exercising her 'live and let live' rights. It's about another person trying to making as much money as possible at the expense of the community, your community. However, there's nothing to be done here. So enjoy 124 in its current state while it lasts.
  23. Okay everyone - perhaps the word infecting is too harsh. It wasn't meant as a personal dig to the owner. What about the actual issue? And I take issue with assuming that because the owner is an elderly lady, she is somehow incompetent. This is sexist and ageist. Does she need help? If so, that's an important issue to be address as well.
  24. It's a derelict site which negatively effects everything around it and it's not the right thing to let a property go to rack and ruin.
