  1. Name and shame so we can all be on the alert. I'll make a start. To the large St. Bernard dog being walked by a short slim white woman with dark hair in her 30s on Melbourne Grove, never again, please.
  2. We should all assume that our bank account and/or credit card details are in the hands of criminals - because they most certainly are. However, the information is useless unless the criminals can use them. To do this they make huge efforts to obtain other information which would allow them to impersonate - from Facebook and bins. It's more than possible these people are innocently 'earning a wage' for the wrong reasons. Don't throw away papers that contain information that identifies you - unless it's shredded.
  3. Ha ha Srisky, me too. A local taxi driver told me there 'was' establishments of this sort on Melbourne Grove. Posh honey is sold on North cross on Saturdays.
  4. A big 'yay' here - very pleased. Great cherries, too. Ta.
  5. Something is very wrong with East Dulwich if ED Deli closes. It is part of our DNA. All surly service is forgiven. We must have access to their brownies. Would a petition help? This must not stand.
  6. It's great to read good reviews of the Gallery- another reason we are lucky to live in ED.
  7. We've got some great viewing ahead if our picks are shown. My first choice is Jim Jarmusch's 'Stranger Than Paradise'. Which perhaps speaks to ED life sometimes?
  8. What would we like our first film to be?
  9. We also had ADT Security ring our doorbell at about 7:30 this evening. My new tactic is to not open the door and to ask loudly 'who is it?'. If I'm not interested, I say 'we're not taking callers at this time'. It works a treat. Stay safe, everyone.
  10. Dear Southern, How hard can it be to depart from East Dulwich train station at say 8:00,as scheduled instead of 07:59?
  11. On Tuesday evening near the Chandelier cafe, an older lady took a tumble and had trouble getting up. As usual in East Dulwich, our neighbourly compassion shows itself and people came running to help. A special thanks to the young lady from Chandelier - you were marvellous. Also thanks to the two chaps with pizzas. My friend is in King's recovering from a hip fracture. I love living in ED.
  12. Esph have a 3 month taster deal at the moment. It's the most civilised gym with no pop music or TVs playing. They?re serious about their fitness.
  13. Thanks for your responses. Sorry to hear of other victims. I'll try to catch one to determine if it's the Blandford fly which I think is the most likely suspect. I've only caught sight of one or two, not unlike having the odd fruit fly buzzing about after buying bananas. It's hard to believe that so few blighters can cause so many big bites. I'm considering breaking out the holiday bug juice. But living in ED is like being on holiday anyway.
  14. Has anyone else been suffering recently from mosquito-like bites, in the house? I've killed a couple of tiny black flies - similar in size to a fruit fly but with larger wings.
  15. Please remember to dead bolt your doors - it only takes a credit card to gain entry.
  16. Orford - why not start your own thread to promote your business? E-dealer - enough, already.
  17. Great news and the very best of luck. I will seek you out to sort my car out. What are your prices?
  18. I do and don't agree with you all. People getting off their cushions and being entrepreneurial is outstanding and to be supported. However, there are rules and licensing for a reason. I'm sure this van is just trying to make an honest crust, but it may also be a clever cover for doing more unsavoury business deals. It?s not completely unknown for cars on Lytcott and surrounding streets to be visited by police sniffer dogs - and no one wants that outside their front door.
  19. You got me grinning like a damn fool.
