In all seriousness, aged 7 in 1985 that was pretty much the first time these two had appeared on my radar.

And much as I like lots of Stones, and some Bowie numbers, I basically haven't been able to like either of them ever, because the 7 year old me found this video disturbing.

As in you liked or disliked Tin Machine? I think the first album is actually rather good... maybe even a "must listen" for aspiring rock guitarists..

Tin Machine has become a lazy shorthand for "disastrous rock star moves" and whilst I wouldn't try and convince anyone of them being great, there is plenty to like on there if you are so minded

Plus it banished his yuppy 80s persona to the dustbin and for that alone, I'm grateful

I thought it was pretty obvious at the time that the whole DITS thing was a hastily put together pi$$ take, and just as hastily forgiven as it was for charidee. Perhaps a cue for Ot's next musically inspired thread...are there any critically acclaimed charidee records out there?...

True, but the My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts album was an early one from '81 and was quite pioneering and influential in the case of sampling, found sounds and electronics etc etc, blah blah blah.

Bowie & Iggy Pop have worked together a lot - Low, The Idiot, Lust For Life and on Blah Blah Blah.

Here's a live one with Bowie on keys and cigarettes.

I sincerely hope similar is available still because for many elderly their pet is their main source of comfort and company.

If you just say , “no, I think it’s x” they start again and get to an agreeable number, or find a calculator. I don’t think it’s a malicious attempt to swindle people. Just not great arithmetic.
    • There are excellent charities like the Greenwich Wildlife Network who will help if you report any concerns with local wildlife. Foxes are wonderful creatures who had been forced into our town and cities and are just doing their best to survive, we should take care of them when we can.
    • Like I thought… prob like that for most of the day.. especially after people had walked their dogs, with friends, relatives  kids…
