Wood Vale Census - What's it about

Does anyone know what the census on Wood Vale was about the other day? Was intrigued as to what they were asking the motorists.

They had a policeman there, and werre pulling over cars just before they joined Lordship Lane at the Horniman end - were there the whole day both on way to work and on way back - as a pedestrian I didn't qualify for interrogation... Did anyone get censused?

It was for TFL (the police are just there to stop the cars). To help with "future planning process and policy development" or similar.

They are stopping cyclists too. I got pulled over on Half Moon Lane yesterday. Presumably analysing travel patterns, as they were asking where I was travelling from, too and stops on the way etc.

Really? I thought they were stopping motorists to check tax discs. I saw them down at the back of Peckham, near Waghorn Street. They were also on Nunhead Lane yesterday and Ivydale Road.

They were on Nunhead Lane on Tuesday - I was cycling and asked to pull over and tell the guy where I'd been and where I was going (Peckham Sorting Office to Nunhead - I'm not a long-distance cyclist). I'm disappointed that they didn't ask pedestrians - most journeys involve some element of walking, but by not including this in surveys, it's easy for "them" to ignore pedestrians needs....
