Windows 8.1 Coaching

I have just got new laptop with Windows 8.1 and want some coaching to help familiarise myself with new programme and to feel comfortable syncing with my new Nokia Lumia 930!

Too much technology for me to cope with, so need some hand holding....bit embarrassing I know but can anyone reccomend someone or who runs workshops to get me started?

Hi Win 8.1 is very different to the old windows; it does not have the start screen that we are all familiar with. I can?t help you with 8.1 but suggest that you download a small app which is free called Classic Shell. This app gives you the start screen which we all know and lets you choose either XP, Vista or Win7 start screen depending on which you are familiar with. The windows store has an app for connecting you phone called MY windows phone...!

It says this app can't run on your pc wen i try and install classic shell?

To me it's backward thinking to replicate an earlier version of windows, why not simply spend a little time researching and exploring the new one?

Want a start menu? right click the taskbar choose new toolbar, in the dialogue box copy and paste this location

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
