I really recommend Simone's Mummies boxing classes. Brilliant way to get back into shape and a great atmosphere where you can bring along your babies and no one minds if you have to pop and attend to them. The level was great too, some cardio and abs work alongside the boxing.. And I felt like I had a great workout without feeling out of my depth, even when feeling really unfit after pregnancy. Great fun!

Rebecca (wife of Ollyk)

I can second the above. I had a c section and have been desperate to get back to exercise and this has been brilliant cardio for me whilst strengthening my core. When the other girls are doing abs I have some alternatives to do. Being able to bring our babies has been really great. Its such a lovely relaxed set up that it just doesn't matter of you have to tend to your baby/child. Even Simone (the teacher) has her little boy Alex there. But don't be fooled, this is not just a fluffy DanceBox thing - you learn real technique and you definitely sweat! I am so pleased I can actually get a workout now and start to feel more like me :)

Anyone looking for authentic boxing PT and or classes Simone is the one to train with. I have been training with her for over a month now doing both Personal Training and her Sunday Women's class. I would like to say that training in all women's space is amazing. I used to train at a regular boxing gym and the atmosphere is completely different to say the least. Simone treats everyone individually, giving everyone opportunity to work at their own speed but also pushing you to do better for yourself but she also knows how to get the group together to support one another making it more of community. When I first contacted Simone she was so lovely and encouraging. So welcoming by insisting that I do her Sunday class which was only a couple hours after we spoke. She greeted me at the door and made me feel safe right away. I am quite shy.

AND her prices are affordable! She offers Personal Training for two or three which makes the price cheaper and accessible. Her classes are also very accessible!

I am so blessed to have found her at a very crucial time in my life. I highly recommend her!!!!!!

I would highly recommend Simone for her classes/ personal training ( i have done both- and am still doing PT sessions due to work commitments)

Simone's classes - fun + a brilliant work out! And its so easy to bring your children with you to the class! so there is no excuse not to turn up! I usually find group exercises daunting/ intimidating but i have not found this with Simone's classes! Everyone in the group is so friendly and it really makes your session good because its often difficult to exercise in a group if no one talks to eachother.

Personal training is even better! Although i am slow at exercising( never really did much before , and post pregnancy i tried zumba for mummies somewhere else but it wasn't for me) i was warmed up correctly ( in the past i/e zumba i could not move for days due to not warming up right!) and stretched out at the end by Simone.

First bit of exercise after having a child two years ago and I perhaps could have chosen something softer - after all, how tough can a bit of boxing be?! I chose the Monday night class as I couldn't make the daytime sessions and not only do I feel like I've been rugby tackled by 20 men, I feel amazing! The hour and a half flew by, the other ladies there were very friendly and we were all in the same boat (it's ladies only which is great if you're a bit self conscious like me). The class - if you can call it that (it's more like a boxing bootcamp full of real technique and with all of the proper equipment) was run by one tough cookie who obviously has a passion for boxing which really comes across and she still remains human and supportive. If you're worried about doing something different - I was, but I'm so glad I happened upon this little gem in East Dulwich - 10min warm up, technique training, spar sessions with pads, circuits and warm down and one very tight backside one day later! A great way to start 2015! Don't "knock" it til you've tried it ;)

Absolutely loving this review gardenorge!! Can't wait to teach you more at class on Monday!!!!

Have a great weekend.

There is now a space going on Friday night group PT . A small group of 5 people all with the same aim ... to lose weight / tone up / get fit. Cheaper than having 1-2-1 but still get my individual attention. Personal training based on boxing fundamentals

PM me for more info

Hi CurlyKaren sounds like family boxing on a sunday 2pm - 3.30pm is the class for you. 6 is a good age to introduce a child to boxing, I've been teaching my boys since 2/3 physically they can do it but mentally their still too young.

I'll PM for you to book in.

    • Thank you, Pugwash. That's really useful information. Do you know who was responsible for the locks and keys, or which council department? Could you PM me if you don't want to put someone's personal details on here?  It may save me having to speak to Monica. Thanks.
    • Does anybody know why? Trees aren't cut down for no reason. There must have been something wrong with it (I hope that was the reason). A child was recently killed and another one injured when a tree fell in a park (not in this area). It isn't always obvious from the outside when a tree is diseased or whatever, and I imagine the council would give safety considerations priority when deciding what to do, if there was any doubt at all.
    • It looks like they have cut it down completely now 😭
    • Different people will be  involved within Thames Water. The people dealing with the leaks aren't the people encouraging less water usage. How many people have reported the Barry Road leak? By what channels? What response have they had? When we had a leak in our road which meant we had no water, several people reported it, there was good communication with TW, they explained why they couldn't come out immediately (other urgent jobs elsewhere in the area) , kept  in touch with us and fixed the leak within a reasonable timescale (hours). Someone from TW also contacted me later to make sure my water was back. But does Thames Water know about it? They aren't psychic (I presume). If nobody reports it, I also presume they won't even know the leaks are  there, unless they have some kind of central monitoring system which tells them when there are leaks in the system. To make it clear, I am not defending Thames Water as a company, which I think should never have been privatised.  But there are some things they can't be blamed for (old and disintegrating water pipe system in London) and some they can (possibly, lack of sufficient staff to deal with leaks, maybe due to trying to save money to give their shareholders more. But this is just surmise on my part - I know nothing about Thames Water).
