intexasatthe moment
I think it's all down to experience . Someone had to point out to me that wheelchairs have 2 bars at the back ,between the wheels and parallel to the wheels, that you push down on with your foot to lever the chair up a curb . JohnL
After walking up Rye Lane to the station most days I have an uncanny ability to avoid obstacles without thinking :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/51914-shocking-building-safety/page/2/#findComment-802731 Share on other sites

And in that case re-phrase my statement to say it's impossible to push a wheelchair up a kerb if you're inexperienced. This is all detracting from the original purpose of the thread which is that the builder in question could easily have done what most other builders do and run a plank on the road instead of the pavement - but was clearly too lazy and inconsiderate to do so. I'll grant you that he's inventive. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/51914-shocking-building-safety/page/2/#findComment-802743 Share on other sites
grace3
It's a no no to run a plank across a pavement. I have skips on various jobs in the area.
